CHAS. This line has been in prospect for more than a year and the transfers of long, narrow strips of land to north of Huntington Beach, which have been evidently made, indicated that a right of way was being secured for the electric line. The Huntington Beach company assured the committee that they had made satisfactory progress in this matter. Nearly all of the concessions for the right of way have been secured. Only three land owners are holding back and they control a strip of about a mile of the land needed. The company does not anticipate much delay in securing this, however, and says that the construction of the lines will be begun soon after the right of way has been entirely secured. The company has bought many pieces of land outright and in securing this right of way has obtained it 100 feet wide, with the intention of building a boulevard the entire length of the electric line and parallel to it. The survey has been completed. It was made by Col. S. H. Finley, form- S. FEDEF IS Out of Bu W IS YOUR CHANCE TO GOODS s a REAL SALE as I am s Angeles to look AFTER ts in the Wholesale B RYBODY as. Our business is being built upon firmness and quality and by giving our customers more for their money than they can get elsewhere. One of the great factors at the bottom of our steady growth is the standard lines that we carry, among them being Moline farm implements, McCormick harvesting machinery, Weber & Fish Bros. wagons, Page buggies, Tribune bicycles, No. 35 White Rotary sewing machines, California oak-tan harness and Sanford whips. We take pride in the fact that our stock is one-third larger than ever, and in every line the selection is better. We wish to take this occasion to thank our patrons for their loyalty to our firm and we will do all in our power to merit their continued patronage. Wickersheim & Oswald. Modjeska Country Club Articles of incorporation of the Modjeska Country club, in which fifteen Long Beach investors are interested, were filed this week. The amount for which the company is incorporated is $100,000, all of it subscribed. It has long been understood that the men secured the big ranch for the purpose of forming a country club, for pleasure only. The articles of incorporation would indicate that the promoters think that it is possible that at some future time the club holdings may be made into a resort for the public. The articles give the company power to build for recreation, social intercourse, athletic exercises, games sports and amusements, both indoors and outdoors. The company may do a general ranching and stock-raising business, run fruit ranches, construct and operate power plants and build theatres as well as operate cold-storage and ice plants. The stockholders in the company are sixteen in number and are: J. B. Heartwell, $5000; C. L. Heartwell, $5000; J. F. Heartwell, $5000; S. Townsend, $30,-000; V. R. Townsend, $5000; A. T.
