Anthony Schreiber, a young man for some time past a resident of this city, died at the Fullerton hospital on Sat- Anthony Schreiber, a young man for some time past a resident of this city, died at the Fullerton hospital on Saturday evening at 10 o'clock after a surgical operation performed an hour previous for a complication of bowel trouble. Schreiber had been ill upward of a week and had not eaten in several days. He complained of severe pains in the abdomen and had been treating himself with purgatives which proved unavailing. Dr. Beebe was called in on Friday evening, when he found the patient suffering great pain and in critical condition. He advised a surgical operation as the only means of saving his life. Schreiber was removed to the Fullerton hospital, and on Saturday evening an operation was performed. Drs. Beebe, Johnston and Syer of this city and Dr. Rich of Fullerton were present. On opening the patient the bowels were found in a gangrenous condition. A quantity of pus exuded from the incision. No further operation was performed. The patient died in an hour. The body was brought to this city and interment occurred on Monday afternoon from the Catholic church. Deceased was a native of Australia and was aged 22 years. He was shortly to be married to a young lady of Hollywood. His death is cause for regret on the part of a large circle of friends. Born to the wife of Frank Dauser, Dec. 1st, a daughter.
