WASHINGTON LETTER
OUR SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT.
Washington, D. C., June 29.
Library to the general belief, no one will be made in the United States flag on the coming Fourth of July consequence of the prospective election to statehood of Oklahoma Indian Territory. The plan of the War and Navy department immediately add a star to the honor of Oklahoma, were pre-empted and have been altered to meet actual legal requirements of the fact was overlooked that it is necessary for the people of the new state to adopt a constitution and hold election to ratify it. As it will reconsiderable time to go through these and other formalities in order to be in readiness, the new star will be added to the field until "the date of July next succeeding such election." It therefore appears that war for Oklahoma cannot be added to flag before July 4th, 1907. In meantime the War department will continue to puzzle their plans to where the new star shall need. When the last re-arrange-of stars occurred, provision was made to accommodate four more or less one for each of the territories but as two territories have been used in one state a new problem exists itself. Flag makers throughout the country cannot begin to make for the coming year until the government designates the placing of new star.

For this test will be made now and anyone will take place in the fall, which a board will decide whether number of machines shall be purfect.
We have been many big men endeors of the White House—big in influence, big in learning in many other directions, but largest man in physical size who ever crossed the threshold of the five Mansion called upon PresiRoosevelt last week. He is a man, Machnow by name, and in the stands nine feet three inches stocking feet and tips the scales he hundred and sixty-five pounds. Said to be by far the tallest man world. His call at the White was merely to shake hands with president who extended the usual "welcome." The giant is going around the world and makes an effort to shake hands with the ruler in country visited. His greeting the American President was so his liking but he found the trouble in getting in and out of doors of the White House the same experienced in other buildings. The White House police force somewhat worried as to how they handle the big fellow in case of ambush but there was no occa-terriment as the visitor acted out of a gentleman and favorably

Most housewives, especially the newly married, will be pleased and surprised to learn that the Department of Agriculture has issued a cook book. This is not one of the kind requiring the purchase of a pound of baking powder to secure it nor does it recommend any special brand of flour or flavoring extracts. It is simply a practical book on how to properly cook vegetables and can be secured of the department through the request of a congressman. It does not give receipts for cooking meats or eggs or for making pastry. The famous authority on cooking, Maria Parloa, has had much of the work in charge which is a sufficient guarantee that the book is replete with valuable information gained from experience.
$100 REWARD, $100
The readers of this paper will be pleased to learn that there is at least one dreaded disease that science has been able to cure in all its stages, and that is Catarrh. Hall's Catarrh Cure is the only positive cure now known to the medical fraternity. Catarrh being a constitutional disease, requires a constitutional treatment. Hall's Catarrh Cure is taken internally, acting directly upon the blood and mucous surfaces of the system, thereby destroying the foundation of the disease and giving the patient strength by building up the constitution and assisting nature in doing its work. The proprietors have so much faith in its curative powers that they offer One Hundred Dollars for any case that it fails to cure. Send for list of testimonials.
