He says the electric road from Whittier, through the La Habra and Randolph and on to Placentia and Riverside is an assured fact. This piece of road, he said, is to be Mr. Huntington's favorite line and is to be equipped with the finest of cars and a schedule of eighty miles an hour will be maintained. Mr. Hole ventured the assertion that a cross-country road would divert from this branch and traverse to the seacoast, if the people furnished the right-of-way. An action was filed on Monday in San Rafael by the state against Fred Woodworth and Victor H. Woods to set aside the application of Woodworth for the purchase of tide lands on Dillon's Beach near Tomales. The point involved is whether or not the tide lands inland, or on the ocean shore can be sold. The state contends that such land is not the subject of sale and that Surveyor General Woods has no right to receive or act upon applications for its purchase. If the plaintiff's contention is upheld, beach property and water front land throughout the state will belong to the people.
