News comes from San Francisco that the Chinese are preparing to deport themselves, not to China, where many of them would be beheaded for crimes against the Emperor, but to Mexico, South America, and British Columbia, and there wait until some plan has been prepared by the Six Companies for their return to the United States. This powerful organization is withdrawing as rapidly as possible all the laborers from the vineyards, farms, mills, kitchens and mines in the interior of the State and are sending them to points near the Mexican line or the border of British Columbia. All the notorious highbinders, who since tian Majesty of Spain, who arrived in New York last week. The Princess is a daughter of the ex-Queen of Spain, Maria Louise Isabella, popularly known as Isabella I Among her ancestors are to be found in the greatest monarchs of Spain, and the rami cation of the family tree include many crowned heads of France and Austria. When Columbus discovered America, Eselia's ancestress was Queen, and through all the turmoil that has overshadowed Spain in the last 400 years, the chain has remained unbroken that connects this charming process of to-day with the royal patroness who made the discovery of America possible. Eselia was born in Madrid on February 12, 1861. She is the youngest child of queen Isabella. Her only brother was the late Alfonso XII of Spain. She was born when the power of Isabella II was at zeanth. This erratic sovereign had a stoic life. At the age of 13 years she was claired of age and became the actual ruler of Spain. In 1846 she married her cousin making the mistake of her life. Her husband had no sympathy with her, and she yielded to her natural bent, seizing pleasure wherever she found it, and giving rise to scandalous stories of conjugal misconduct. It was in such a household that the young Princess Eulalia passed her first year. When she was 4 years old a great revolution broke out in Spain, and Eselia she fled to France. On June 25, 1870, she nounced all claims to the Spanish throne favor of her son, the late King Alfonso XII. With the exception of a brief interval she has lived in Paris ever since. Her own education had been shamefully neglected, and she has taken care that the same disadvantage should not hamper her children. The Infanta Eulalia was always an exceptional bright scholar. She speaks English, French German, Portuguese and Italian as fluently as her own tongue. She is extremely charitable, devoting a large part of her income to works of benefice, and giving even possible encouragement to the industries her country, especially among women. appearance Eulalia is slight and graceful with brown hair and blue eyes. This powerful organization is withdrawing as rapidly as possible all the laborers from the vineyards, farms, mills, kitchen and mines in the interior of the State and are sending them to points near the Mexican line or the border of British Columbia. All the notorious highbinders, who since the constitutionality of the Geary Act was affirmed have been on the point of inciting a massacre of respectable Chinamen in San Francisco, have suddenly disappeared from Chinatown and fully 300 well-known Chinese who have always given the police more or less trouble have dropped out of sight. A rancher and vineyardist from Fresno told a reporter that all his field bands had suddenly left him, and finding it impossible to supply their places through the contractors for Chinese labor he had heretofore dealt with he had gone to San Francisco to try to make a contract for registered Chinese to work among his vines, but was unable to get any satisfaction, even when as high as $175 and $2 per day was offered hands under contract for the season. The steamship Queen, which with two or three sister ships has been lying at anchor in the bay near Saulaito for months, is being fitted out as rapidly as possible with a crew, being provisioned and put in readiness to go to sea, and it is understood that the other ships mentioned are also to be put in readiness for a sea voyage at once. The steamship officers, as usual, know nothing about it, but a man who was en-evoking to secure the postfix of steward on the Queen was well enough posted to know that his service, if require at all, would be needed at once. Nutt Water Day. "Salt Water Day" is the name of a tri-yearly carnival inaugurated by the Santa Fe folks at Redonda last season. It brought an immense crowd to the beach, where daylight fireworks, a parade and swimming tournament were the features. The first of the three dates for the celebration of salt water day is announced in the following proclamation by King Neptune: Ahoy! Ahoy! Ahoy! All ye people of Southern California! You are hereby warned that I, Neptune, reigning monarch of the seas, have appointed Sunday, May 28, 1893, as Salt Water Day, and you are commanded and adjusted to gather in holiday attire at that point on the borders of my dominion, known as Redondo Beach, there to celebrate with others of my faithful subjects, the great Tri-year's Carnival. Witness the great seal of the waters, and the signature of Neptune. Guarantd Cur. The fabled Elizier Vitre could scarcely impart greater vivacity to the countenance than this wonderful medicine. If ever a man feels like "a poor worm of the dust," it is when he suffers from that tired feeling. Ayer's Sarasaparilla removes this discouraging physical condition and imparts the thrill of new life and energy to every nerve, tissue, muscle and fibre of the whole body. Buckingham's Dye for the Whiskers is a popular preparation in one bottle, and colors evenly a brown or black. Any person can easily apply it at home. A German Prince at the Fair. The first visitor to the World's Fair being to a sovereign house arrived in Chicago a few days ago. He is Prince Leopold of Isenburg-Birstein, the eldest son of the reigning Prince, and heir to enormous estates situated in Central Germany and comprising several hundred square miles. The principality of Isenburg was one of the German confederation, but at the Vienna congress it was divided up among the neighboring States, the reigning family, however, reserving some of the royal prerogatives and some of the sovereign rights over the many towns within their territory. The capital of the principality is Offenbach-on-the-Main, a busy industrial town of about 40,000 inhabitants, where the family possesses two palaces, one an old castle situated near the river, and built by the same architect who built the famous Heidelberg castle. Indeed many connoisseurs prefer the facade of the Isenburg castle to that of Heidelberg. The castle is not inhabited and the family usually resides in a more modern palace, containing many art treasures of great value. In summer the family resides in the medieval castle of Biratein, from which they derive their name and which they acquired some five centuries ago at the division of the family into two branches, the minor branch taking the name of Isenberg-Buodinger. The reigning Prince, whom Prince Leopold will succeed, is married to H. S. H. Archduchess Maria Luida of Austria, Grand Duchess of Tuscany and Royal Princess of Hungary, a sister of the reigning Grand Duke of Tuscany, and first cousin of Emperor Francis Joseph of Austria. To set at rest all doubts and misrepresentations in regard to the cost of viewing the World's Fair and its various side attractions Director General Davis has submitted a report to the National Commission showing what buildings and departments at Jackson Park the entrance fee of fifty cents entitles the visitor to see and at what places an extra charge is made, together with the amount of such charges. The fee of fifty cents, which is charged for admission to the World's Columbian Exposition grounds, includes the Midway Plaiance, covers also an admission to all buildings of the World's Columbian Exposition, including all of the special exhibition buildings allied with the several great departments, floors and galleries of the Administration building, the Monastery of La Rabida, containing all of the most valuable and authentic relics of Columbus now extant, the Woman's building and United States Government building, the battle-ship and all of the State buildings and pavilions of foreign nations. A list was also submitted of the special entertainments and outside exhibits on the Midway Plaiance, to see which a visitor may pay ten to fifty cents in each case. These include a street in Cairo with a band of Egyptians, an Irish village, an Esquimaux village, panoramas and other such special exhibits made under concessions to private companies. To take in all of these will require an outlay of just $15 10. New strained honey of superior quality is beginning to come into market. The honey industry has long taken a second place to that of fruit and as a result the price of honey is higher. For a year or so producers have received 25 per cent more than previously. They are now paid 5 and 6 cents. The new honey just offered brings as high as 6½ and 7¼ cents. When the market settles the indications are that the producers of the first grade of white honey will get about 5½ cents. Indications are for a light crop this season, which will also tend to keep the prices firm. For Rent. Ten acres to rent on shares. Enquire at this office.
