Remarkable Rescue
Mrs. Michael Curtain, Plainfield, Ill makes the statement that she caught off which settled on her lungs; she was treated for a month by her family physician, but grew worse. He told her she was a hypnotic victim of consumption and that no medicine could cure her. Her druggist presented Dr. King a New Discovery for Consumption; she bought a bottle and to her delight found herself banished from first dose. She continued its use and after taking ten bottles, found herself sound and well, now does her own housework and is as well as she ever was.
MISCELLANEOUS
GORMANBIZING,
or operating, or the partaking of too rich and indulgent food, is a common cause of discomfort and suffering. To immediately relieve the stomach and bowels from such overloading, a full dose of Dr. Pierce's Purgative Palm is the best remedy. They operate gently, yet thoroughly and without gripping, nausea, or other unpleasant effects.
If the too free indulgence in such intemperate eating has damaged digestion, causing dyspepsia and biliousness, attended with a sense of fullness or Morning after eating, coated tongue, bitter or had taste in mouth in the morning, on arising, drowsiness after meals, indigestible feeling of dread, or of impending calamity and hypochondria—they need to follow up the use of the "Petals" with Dr. Pierce's Golden Medical Discovery, to tone up the stomach, invigorate the liver, and set all the processes of digestion at work.
While curing indigestion, it purifies the blood, cleansing the system from all hammers and blood-poisons—no matter of what name or nature or from what cause arising. There is nothing similar to it in compaction or gas-proaching R in results. Therefore, don't be duped and induced to take some substitute, and to be "just as good," that the dealer may make a larger profit.

A Dog Fireman.
The possibilities of the canine brain may not yet have been fathomed even by dog lovers. The Canadian Republican tells of a wonderful feat of a Newfoundland in that town. It seems that when the office of the Vaughan house was opened the other morning, a hole six inches in diameter was found to have been burned completely through the double floor near the stove. The dog known as "Jay," was shut up in the room and an examination showed marks of the dog's claws in the charred wrist. Mr. Smith, the proprietor of the house, says Jay is a first-class fireman, and if he sees a burning cigar stub, a match, or a spark on the floor he will scratch them with his front paws until the fire is extinguished. Mr. Smith has no doubt but that Joe saved the building and perhaps the inmates.
Plain Enough.
No thing is made for nothing. Every part or even the smallest animal's structure is, or has been, of use to him. Otherwise it never would have been developed.
"Can you tell me my friend," said an elderly gentleman to the keeper of the menagerie, "what the hump on that animal's back is for?"
"What's it for?"
"Yes. Of what value is it?"
"Well, it's lots of value. Decemel wouldn't be no good widout it."
"Why not?"
"Why not. You don't suppose people 'and pay twenty-five cents to see a camel without any hump on him.' Ja yerf—Youth's Company."
