NATURE AND TRAMPS. WHERE THE RICH AND THE POOR ARE ON A COMMON PLANE The Wanflerers Amid the Glories of Holl and Valley Who Love Nature and Know It Not The American Tramp and the English "Cabby." One of the greatest charms about Nature is that she never distinctly normalizes. A poor shiner out at the elbows perhaps from lack of worldly wisdom may wandert along by ways and hedge rods quite secure in their smoothness that no fool or tree is likely to draw the trigger of a moral gun and weed a cold bullet of orthodoxy into his veilerable spot—the beet, he fondly imagines of an unusing Achilles. No Nature is too tender hearted for that. The sun smiles cheerfully at him, the leaves rustle immensely for him the great trees are as cooperate in offering him a wait at their roots as the oak king of Wall street, the invader of electric light or the author of Passion Friends for Analyzing Impurity. Everything combines to surround him with an atmosphere of peace. He may forget his stability after and disappointed hopes and wriness again but heart to the benign influences which his mind weaves about him. Her teachings are too subtle for him to rob against. AN UNCONSIDERED ADDITION. Although a tramper may not formulate his thoughts there have doomed something of this feeling in his heart. By giving the trumpeter organized ponds of trained animals in the heavens father and the earth mother—grizzled Indians, Indians and Tartars are unevenous waters of nature. Those language picturesque and subtly wise and metaphorical officers from nonexistent treasures of winds and waves and mountain leagues pose themselves to the harmful inflections of their mutual mother tongue. The most genuine poetry to tell contains their oral traditions and role in inspirational tones of wandering trails and the sounds of music that most tinged with grimization of an undercurrent of homosexuality may be heard in the wild strains of the present day wander over the rugged mountains of Norway, or may be heard in the lifeless tone of the twisters in Siberian fells. There is some what anxious in that three fourths of the tramps of those are uncosseous of their own inflection of nature. Go into admiration that peculiarly look affectionate to her will grant all joy and she will grunt all laughter and American tramps for elegance has civilized in disdain of witty mental weakness. Some laborers out of work, allways leave the roof of living at home—magnificent Times out, so pass an eye, having artful temperament without power of expression in art, forms some again are true philosophers, not differing widely from that philosopher who wanted sleeping in a tub, or from that one who did clavel. If you would impress, be content to be thought foolish and idol with regard to extremals. All however are molded more or less by nature, and though none are the loom, steel blades of humanity, some are the blocks of wood out of which times and circumstances may curve convenient handles. And as to contempt for them as a class, why, most volition is there so much difference after all between the good natured, quick witted, out door vaulien and the indifferent man of pleasure, who half unconscious of the treasures of art and nature about him, methodically tramps and eats his ancestral past for way through many lands!—Kate Elizabeth Clark in New York Home Journal. The Electric Age Professor Elisha Gray remarks that electrical science has made a greater advance than in all the 0,000 history years preceding. More is discovered in one day now than in a thousand years of the middle ages. We find all sorts of work for electricity to do. We make it carry our messages, drive our engine, ring our door bell, and scare the burglar; we take it as a medicine, light our gas with it, see by it, wear from it, talk with it, and now we are beginning to teach it to write—Scientific American. The mother and children are doing well, and the father is reasonably happy. It was an old woman in Indiana who invented the whisk broom, and millions of them are whisking from daylight to dark without her having made a cent out of the invention. A college of carpentry for women has been started in the old university town of Cambridge, England. It is intended not so much to teach the trade as to develop manual dexterity among women.
