The police searched his home and found several items inside, including a knife and a pair of gloves. Progress: Davidson in Write on Art at Our Next Week's Issue Some Valuable Suggestions to Parents and Teachers One of the most important tasks in selecting a school is to determine its qualifications for education. The school must be no more than a large institution with buildings and facilities suitable for its purpose. It should also be accessible to all parts of the state, including rural areas. Nursing needs was ever aimed without a season. Parents should be aware that the demand for nurses is increasing. They are constantly affected by the changes in the healthcare system. Sports are an important part of life. Parents should ensure that their children have access to sports equipment and facilities. We are now building a new school and we need to make sure that the students are well prepared for the future. Another important task is to ensure that teachers are well trained and equipped to teach two topics: analysis and teaching two topics. It may be convenient that his teacher has a personal interest in his welfare and process, the tool is as often to his discipline as his usual battery. If the father would cooperate with the teacher in ensuring this influence, the boy's pathway to success will be easier. First to Organize and First to Sell Homes Under the Wright Act Last Monday we had a meeting at the town hall where the council was held. The contract was signed and the first payment was made in banks for the construction of the district office. The district office is located in St. Albans county and Norfolk county at heart. It is the largest public service in the county and provides essential services such as health care, education, and recreation. This result has been attained with a long harvest and vigorous struggle by her directors, and they have managed the campaign well. The district was organized on June 8, 1857. Its board of directors consisted of seven members who were elected on October 10, 1857. After advertising systems of the bonds for sale on November 7, 1857, no bills were received except one by Robert McHeery, who took them to be sold for the district. It was found necessary to test the constitutionality of the law before capital would consider them for investment and on November 17, 1857, a suit was commenced in the State Supreme Court for that purpose and on May 31, 1858, its opinion was filed, fully sustaining the law in all respects. Again the bonds were advertised for sale, the district on September 18, 1898, offering the remainder of the issue, but as before, no bids were received, except one by L. M. Hickman, who took them to be reaid for the district. During all this time and up to the sale constant efforts were being made to sell the bonds. Every San Francisco capitalist, as well as many in other parts of the State and also in the East and even in Europe, has been applied to purchase them. Often success seemed in reach, but some little obstacle necessitated an application in some other quarter. All acknowledged that the bonds seemed to be a good investment, but capital is hard to find, and the man who would venture his millions in this untested security, but at last, after weary months of work and anxiety, it is done. A written contract has been made by Mr. Hickman and a syndicate of San Francisco cantalists and counterinsigned by E. B. Oka President of the Board of Directors of the district, by which they syndicate to purchase 1,000 tons of 650 each. The bonds are to be delivered and paid for as needed in the construction of the canals and works; no more bonds are to be delivered than necessary to complete the work. Interest does not commence on any bond till it is deposited. In lieu of ten days the bonds will be printed and the district will have the loss of the first installment. In the mean time Mr. Hickman holds it as a deposit bound the contract. No money can be used till the surveyor completes his working surveys and rights of way have been secured and there is no question but the money will be forthcoming as called for. In addition to securing the sale of the bonds, the directors have had extended surveys made covering many working months, have secured water rights, kept up the work necessary to examine other systems of irrigation, had plans and estimates of fame made, have neglected with masters later and many privileges, and are now ready to present to the success of the scheme which has been established. An assurance of which John W. Hickman has been established. Kleinigkeiten. There will be a Xmas concert and tree at the Methodist church on Xmas eve. Although the popular vote cuts no figure in the election of a President, there is always considerable curiosity to know which candidate has received the highest number of ballots. The gratification of this reasonable curiosity is attended with some difficulty owing to the varying mode of estimating the votes. In some States an attempt is made to average, while in others the method of the almanac-makers of taking the highest vote for Elector on each ticket is strictly adhered to. Owing to these varying modes, no two papers bring out the same footings, and it is only when the almanac-makers, who by patient letter-writing to the different capitals manage to get a uniform report of the highest vote on each ticket, present their results WORKING SERVICE AND RIGHTS OF HAVE BEEN DESTROYED AND THERE IS NO PRIORITY TO THE MONEY WILL BE FORCERING AS ALSO FOR IN ADDITION TO SEARCHING THE SALE OF THE DRAFTS, THE DIRECTORS HAVE EXTENDED SURVEY COVERAGE MAY HAVE BEEN MOVED MANAGEMENT WORKS, HAVE BEEN EXAMINED SYSTEMS OF Irrigation, AND PLANS AND ESSENTIAL DAMAGES MAKE UP THE WORK NEEDED TO RETURN. Owing to these varying modes, no two papers bring out the same footings, and it is only when the almanac-makers, who by patient latter-writing to the different capitals manage to get a uniform report of the highest vote on each ticket, present their results that a satisfactory decision may be made. From a tabulated statement of the voters in the United States it appears that in 1884 the total popular vote was 10,048,061,and this year the vote amounted to 11,321,170,and increase during the past four years of 1,273,109.The following table shows the plurality of the candidates: MAKING CALIFORNIA 7,080 Alabama 69,813 Colorado 12,613 Arkansas 27,210 Illinois 21,881 Connecticut 336 Indiana 2,348 Delaware 3,441 Iowa 31,721 Florida 12,902 Kansas 80,159 Georgia 60,003 Maine 23,252 Kentucky 28,666 Massachusetts 31,466 Louisiana 54,270 Michigan 22,911 Maryland 6,411 Minnesota 36,695 Mississippi 55,380 Nebraska 28,004 Missouri 25,701 Nevada 1,400 New Jersey 7,149 New Hampshire 1,834 North Carolina 13,627 New York 14,335 South Carolina 52,825 Ohio 19,599 Tennessee 19,264 Oregon 6,769 Texas 163,362 Pennsylvania 79,321 Virginia 1,539 Rhode Island 3,428 West Virginia 1,900 Vermont 28,404 Wisconsin 21,271 Total 592,899 Plurality 118,328 Total 474,571 The pluralities in the South are largely in excess of those given Cleveland four years ago in that section, the chief increase being noted in States which showed no increased vote, and in some cases a diminished vote compared with 1884.Inxivet year.Cleveland's total was 65,088,a part of which,它will be recalled, was contributed by the North. A letter received from District Attorney Delpay a few days ago states that the questions referred to him by the board in relation to the matter are purely questions of law, and not calculated to alter the present status of the case. There seems to be no room for doubt that the board will grant the prayer of petitioners. Judge Vanalack of Norwalk is fast acquiring the reputation of a naughty man. He was married some months ago, and last week was arrested on a charge of bigamy, it being alleged the Judge had another spouse in the East from whom he flew many years ago. It took the Judge but a moment, however, to "square" the matter with his first wife's big brother, and he was allowed to return to the bosom of his family. Naughty Judge. Attention is directed to the mammoth advertisement of Rumpan Bros., which will be found in our advertising columns this morning. The firm have an immense stock of dry goods, etc., embracing everything usually found in a first-class dry goods store. They have marked down prices to an astonishing extent and goods can be bought as cheap as in Los Angeles. Give them a call. Our young men can make their sweethearts no more acceptable present for Christmas than a silk dress. The Rumpan Rose have an elegant lot to choose from. Call and inspect them. Never were grapegrowers and winemakers in Pomona valley so jubilant as now. Large orders are coming in rapidly from New York, Boston and Philadelphia for wines from that place, and a few days ago a cablegram was received from London, England, ordering immediately the shipment by the Pomona Wine Company of 200 barrels of sherry and seventy barrels of brandy. The same quantity is also ordered to be shipped to London next February. It is generally believed that this is the beginning of a large trade in Southern California with England. Supervisor elect Littlefield is daily begged by applicants for positions in the gift of the next board. A physician from Santa Clara was among the callers a day or two ago. He desired to be appointed Superintendent. It will be noticed in the table showing the increased vote of the States that California stands tenth in the volume of increase. This is a striking fact when it is borne in mind that there are seventeen States which have a larger total vote than California. In 1884 California held the eighthth position in volume of vote, and in the census of 1880 her rank in population was twenty-fourth. An attentive study of the tables will show that this State has made a greater relative increase than any other State in the Union. Consumption barely cared.
