MIDDLE EAST INTENTION
Monday, May 14th, 1830
During the present campaign, all that Anaheim has to be given of the leaves and fines in the Supervisor in this district Santa Ana has had the office for two years, and it is but just that: the district on three sides of the river be given representation at the Sunning election. During Supervisor Rome there has been expanded by improvements in and near Santa Ana so here a more than $20,000 while the money expended here has been combined mainly to urgent require upon the county roads. The bridge across the sand path is still allowed to go by the board because it has as yet been found impassable to rain for eight days for right while $20,000 stands appropriated for its construction. If the bridge were to be constructed near Santa Ana, perhaps the right of way matter would specify be merged into the appropriation and the bridge forth with consideration. The fast of the whole matter is that Mr. Rom does not care for the requirements of his constituents this side of the river, at least their interests are not granted or rationally as upon the other side of the river. If Anaheim cannot, be given consideration by a Santa Ana Supervisor it should see to it that a proper effort be made to locate the office here.
A committee of five intelligent citizens was appointed to prepare the boundaries of our water district under the Wright hall. They have performed their work in a careful manner. The boundaries of said district are published in our advertising column. According to Section Two of the Wright hall "The Board [of Supervisors] shall not modify and boundaries so as to except from the operation of this Art any territory within the boundaries of the district proposed by said petitioner which is susceptible of irrigation by the same system of work applicable to the other lands in such proposed district.
In order to deliver an irrigator fifty inches of water in some sections of the Anaheim district no less than two hundred inches are turned into the ditch at the reservoir. One hundred and fifty inches are thus lost through seepage and the improper construction of trench about a year ago. The boy had not only survived the operation but had grown strong and healthy. Emperor Ferdinand took board of his home, and clearing in one him, paid his expenses from London to Palma. He examined the child's throat and heard him talk, while the Empress Nicholas plied him with boots that he might show how well he could walk.
The handsome chairman of the Board of City Trustees (Prudence Sue) announced himself on one occasion of a printed card, as the Republican candidate for Audition, the other action of the card sharing a woodcut photograph of an elegant and truly lovely man. If the delegates at the convention today can be made to believe, this beautiful picture represents the monumental presence of the candidates, we have no doubt that will be such a stampede of lioness delegates to the scene of the handsome chairman of the Board of City Trustees as was never before seen in the history of movements. We do not see how they can help but be smashed by the beautiful thing. If the handsome chairman of the Board of City Trustees will offer a photograph of himself in every delegate making a ballot for him his nomination will be something of a foresight conclusion. Then during this campaign more photographs will be available for rates. The handsome chairman of the Board of City Trustees should not stunt himself in the matter. Photographs of his various attitudes, and the correct thing in pose and gesture spread broadcast throughout the county of its cigarette photo, would go not only to make the campaign one of beauty and evoking joy, but would also serve to snow under any communication with the audience to run against the hand some chairman of the Board of City Trustees.

In order to deliver an irrigation city inches of water in some sections of the Anabism district, no less than two hundred inches are turned into the ditch at the reservoir. One hundred and fifty inches are thus lost through seepage and the improper construction of ditches. This loss, together with that of some five hundred inches in the district above the river, it is contemplated will be saved by the proper formation of our irrigation district. With ditches properly commented, and water new running to waste piped into the reservoir, the loss will be reduced to a minimum, while the increase will be fast. Seventy-five per cent of all water now delivered to the irrigators mentioned will be saved, which, with the increased volume piped into the reservoir, will give us something like one thousand inches of water that is now practically allowed to run to waste. Can any one consistently oppose the adoption of the Wright bill here? The Supervisor who would oppose it through selfish insists not only the condemnation of all thinking men, but ought to be summoned before a tribunal to show cause why he should not be wiped from the face of the earth.
We are informed that General John H. Brody was who in the Legislature when the Wright bill was passed and lent his aid to the enactment of the measure, has been looking at the water question as it stands in our neighborhood. General Brody is as thoroughly conversant upon the irrigation question as any gentleman in the county. He considers the adoption of the Wright bill here very best thing that could be done by our irrigators. The General has said that he would inform the Board of Supervisors as to the merits of the bill when they come to consider the formation of our district. Our people should not allow the General to stop at this. It is important that he be included in the committee to appear before the board next month. Let an understanding be had with him in the matter. Not a particle of his valuable services should be lost.
The hon-hearted man killer who edits our shod roaring contrumperary on lemon street prances around town with something strapped near the region of his brains that resembles much a "forty-five" river. One thing is certain if everyone should sanction enough courage to "pull it apart any of the men whom he is alleged to be "carrying" it for, it will be taken away from him, shoved down his puillianous galllet, and fired. He will then be in position to hop around and importune donations of breath, instead of money, to keep alive his sheet which he is nervous enough to aver we are trying to "throttle."

The moon's solipsis was of interest to astronomers, as showing the value of the great advance made in stellar photography. The perfection to which this has been brought has probably enabled the observers at Mount Hamilton, with the new and powerful telescopes there situated, to make discoveries of importance. It is probable that the California astronomers will set on the suggestion of Dr. Strava, Director of the Observatory at Palekwa, in Russia, at the nearly complete extinguishment of the moon's light observation of faint light. BOARD OF CITY TRENDS
Here Penske Bohme a Brunswick bar 29,000, the Binghamton business.
The Board of City Trends and its regular yesterday all the members being present. Nothing but routine business will be attended. Two ordinance were introduced one laying a dog license, and an ordinance prohibiting her from being kept, except in archived buildings within the limits abbreviated by Santa Ana and Syracuse streets, and Olive and Palm streets. Two ordinances were adopted one laying in rooms and the other relating to obstructions in the streets. Both are published in another column. Action was deferred on the ordinance containing the specimens for certain sidewalks it being the desire of the board to investigate the month of the interim time required payment.
Perniman was granted Mr. Ramson to enclose the Manogue Hall with the city water works.
Mr. Littelfeld stated that the A.U.W. had appointed a committee to confer with the Trustees in regard to the settlement between the two corporations as to which of them should repair the bridges and ditches in town. The matter was referred to the Committee of Public Improvements. A communication was received from the attorneys of Kad Farnes, stating that there had been placed in their hands by Mr. Farnes a claim for $2,000 against the city for damages sustained by him by the laying of rocks and continual passing of the cars of the California Central Railroad Company to quote from the letter. The injury to the property of said Farnes connects on the laying of sand tracks in and along his property on Orange street and in such a manner that his agrees and ingress is almost entirely destroyed from and to his said property and his being compelled to make large circuit for that purpose, and in also rendering the said property much more valuable by the proximity of said tracks and the passage of the care of said company. The latter was referred to City Attorney Malrose.
The question arising as to whether the city should pay the engineer for giving property owners their building and grade lines, it was moved that the city pay the engineer for furnishing property owners with the street and sidewalk lines, and the trade of the streets and sidewalks, on all streets upon which grades have been established, provided, that no such lines or trades be formed at the expense of the city except when the property owner is about to erect a building or construct a skewwalk.
Mr. Beige opposed the motion, and it was withdrawn.
The Clerk was instructed to procure a seal or the city.
The New Head.
