Fourteen bills in equity have been filed in San Francisco by Alfred Robinson, trustee, who alleges that in 1868, under a tripartite indenture, he obtained possession for sale of portions of the Los Angeles, Las Bolsas and Los Alamitos ranchos in this county. It is said that coyotes are increasing in numbers and boldness around here. They venture into town nearly every night. It may be that the depleted hen houses are due to the nightly visitations of these animals, and that the poultry-loving Chinamen are to a great extent the victims of a prejudiced misapprehension.
