Each package is marked with its weight and number of its grade, and is ready for shipment to any part of the world without any further packing or wastage in any way, and reducing the cost of shipment and trouble of handling. They propose, if supported by the wool raisers of this county, to add to their grading and packing facilities, scouring and cleansing works, to fit the wool to pass directly into the hands of the manufacturer. Mr. Perkins, who is connected with the establishment, is an old and experienced wool man, and is in every way competent to carry out the business he has taken in hand. Mr. McDonald is an old resident of Wilmington, and has for many years been engaged in the raising of wool. We think it will be of benefit to the sheep men of this county to look into their method of handling wool, and the inducements they hold out for patron MISCELLANEOUS. The House of Representatives has taken a step towards re-enacting the franking privilege by suspending the rules and passing, by a vote of 184 ayes to 48 nays, the bill authorizing the free circulation through the mails of newspapers in the county wherein published. The fifteen thousand Grangers of this State propose to go into the warehouse business on an extensive scale, in different parts of the State. The Farmers' Co-operative Union has already purchased a warehouse in Marysville, at a cost of $15,000. A special dispatch from Jackson, Miss., says: "The liquor license bill passed by the legislature requires a majority of male voters over 21, and females over 18, in the city, township or town to sign a petition for a license to sell liquor, before such license shall be issued." Dreyfus & Co., of Anaheim, San Francisco and New York, one of the largest wine dealing and manufacturing houses in the State. This firm make up most of the grape crop of Los Angeles county, and besides their own enormous product, buy largely from other portions of the State, to supply their trade in the East. Mr. Dreyfus buys in Napa and Sonoma counties every year, and has just bought the entire crop of Mr. Winters, of Huichica Ranch. He left for San Francisco last evening to meet his wife, who is just returning from the East, but will be up again next week to go to St. Helena and other points. To those who do not know him already, we would say that he is a thorough gentleman and a first-class business man, and we commend him to the kindliest reception of all.
