The Best of Lager Always on Hand Anaheim Agency. With this domesticating of cattle has come the introduction of bebreeds, herds adapted to the wintof the farm, the dairy and the shobles. The long-born and logged Spanish breeds have been and are being supplanted by the Durbams, the Devons, the JersAlderneys and Holsteins, and othgood domestic breeds. The day coming, and is now at hand, whasimilar change should take place this State in respect to sheep. We we are becoming one of the large producers of wool of any of the American States, we occupy a strange and irrational position that our farmers, as a general therare not sheep owners—the sheedoes not yet generally occupy place of a domestic animal on the farm. Our millions of sheep mostly owned by men who hath their ten thousands and twentyfifty thousands in large flocks, occepying vast ranges and receivcomparatively but little care attention. This system of shokeeping partakes too much of the characteristics of the old Spartan cattle system of the country. The tendency is and must be to derivate rather than to improve the breed. There is but one breed of sheep with which it is possible keep up this system—the Spanterineos. This breed of sheep nature or by long custom, has come gregarious, and, to a certain extent, adapted to the large flock system. This breed is also well adapted to domesticizing, and mans by better care and more attention smaller flocks on the farm be made improved and rendered much more profitable. The best sheep for farm, however—the sheep bred adapt to strict domestication, found among the larger and loungered breeds, such as the Leicese the Lincoln, the Cotswold or Southdown. All these breeds have been originated in England, have for ages been kept on farms small flocks, in accordance with English system of agriculture which the domestic animal plays important part, and contributes largely to the general profits. COHEN - - Proprietor. IN ADDITION TO MY BUTCHERING ESTABLISHMENT, I keep always on hand a choice variety of vegetables, fruits, etc., etc. adapted to strict domestication, found among the larger and lounger wooled breeds, such as the Leicester the Lincoln, the Cotswold or Southdown. All these breeds have been originated in England, and have for ages been kept on farms small flocks, in accordance with English system of agriculture, which the domestic animal plays important part, and contributes largely to the general profits. Like the English breeds of cattle they have become by natuadapted to the farm, to strict mestication, and are not adapted breeding in large flocks and occupying large ranges, as the Spanish merino. The English breeds sheep and cattle are strictly products of the English system of agriculture as the Spanish breed cattle and sheep are the product the nomadic or roaming habitats the Spanish stock raising people. The English breeds of sheep adapted both to wool and mutt as the English breeds of cattle adapted both to milk and beef. The English system of agriculture is the best in the world because makes the land yield a greater profit. The nearer we can adopt the English system, the fore, the more perfect and the more profitable will be our agricultural Every farmer in this State should annually turn off a few bred or thousand pounds of wheat and a few fat wethere for mutt Those who have adopted this type have uniformly continued it, because they see where the profits come in.—Sacramento Record. The liquor dealers of Santa Clara county have formed a protected association in anticipation of application of the local option in that county, their intention being to test its constitutionality. State the sheep has hardly copied the position of a animal. In the early days of India, cattle were kept in thousands and roamed country at will. The cattle owner, bearing his brand mark, frequently occupied miles in extent, and from seen by him or his more than once a year. At the annual rodeo, or of cattle for the purpose of marking. Domesticating of cattle is the introduction of better The Kindergarten and What it is The founding of the German Kindergarten is credited to Frebel, a scholar of the renowned Rostallexi. He established at Keilhan, In Thuringia, a school for children of from two to seven years of age, bringing to bear on the theory of nature's process the experience of his own childhood. He called his school "Kindergarten," or child garden, for the reason, as he stated, that a child was a young plant, and should be reared accordingly. At first he was pronounced crazy and an innovator; after some experience with his method the people finally praised him and official interference not only ceased, but the government at last encouraged him. In short, Frebel lived to see Kindergartens established throughout Germany; dying at the age of seventy, proud of having so happily realized his beneficent aim. Frebel's educational system is based on the best of experience. All infants like to play. They soon tire of curious things they do not understand or comprehend, and before which they remain passive spectators; infants accordingly break toys to pieces and in turn system of agriculture, in the cultivation of the soil, chief occupation, and one of the incidents matter system, cattle are on the farm of their males are turned into females are made to milk, butter and cheese for the use of the family, surplus goes to help swell profits of the farmer. Domesticating of cattle the introduction of better breeds adapted to the wants of the dairy and the shamrock long-borned and long-nish breeds have been being supplanted by the Devons, the Jerseys, and Holsteins, and other stastic breeds. The day is now at hand, when a large should take place in respect to sheep. While coming one of the largest of wool of any of the United States, we occupy the irrational position—farmers, as a general thing, sheep owners—the sheep get generally occupy the domestic animal on the millions of sheep are owned by men who have thousands and twenty and lands in large flocks, occult ranges and receiving only but little care and This system of sheep artakes too much of the tactics of the old Spanish man of the country. The land must be to deter than to improve the there is but one breed of which it is possible to this system—the Spanish This breed of sheep, by long custom, has bevious, and, to a certain extent to the large flock This breed is also well domesticating, and may care and more attention in ks on the farm be much rendered much more The best sheep for the ever—the sheep best district domestication, are larger and longer beds, such as the Leicester, the Cotswold or the All these breeds have originated in England, and has been kept on farms in accordance with the system of agriculture, in domestic animal plays an important part, and contributes the general profits. English breeds of cattle become by nature ment at last encouraged him. In short, Frebel lived to see Kindergartens established throughout Germany; dying at the age of seventy, proud of having so happily realized his beneficent aim. Frebel's educational system is based on the best of experience. All infants like to play. They soon tire of curious things they do not understand or comprehend, and before which they remain passive spectators; infants accordingly break toys to pieces and in turn fashion something else. The fashioning of something new out of old material is a natural instinct. Frebel devoted himself to regulating this creative infantile instinct, the recognition of which is important in the development of faculty of observation and imagination. He accordingly organized the Kindergarten with a view to the exercise of the infantile hand and mind by easy work and simple amusements, while he disciplined understanding by signs. In carrying out this plan never did he deviate from the scope of infantile accomplishments. On visiting a Kindergarten of sixty pupils I have witnessed a sort of blind man's buff, in which every child in turn had to guess, by an exclamation, the name of the child who seized its hand. Not one in so large a crowd made a mistake. These exercises develop, to a remarkable degree, perspicacity and thoughtfulness, while a love of labor under this form becomes seductive. The children are eager to get to a school where all is frolic, and every evening they take home some new acquisition to their families. Children are naturally open and communicative, and are consequently cheerful; the child who is supposed to be of a good disposition is who led by gentleness and kindness. The children are not taught either reading or writing; but when they leave the Kindergarten and go to regular schools their progress is much more rapid than other children; the schoolmasters all agree that the Kindergarten graduates excel others in vivacity of intellect. Frebel aimed to make children thoroughly understand that which is ordinarily only indicated to them; they are obliged to talk and get excited, their intellect being rendered active in matters where it is usually passive. There remains one point more on which to say something, and that is the philosophy of punishment. In principle, punishment is not considered either as curative or with a view to make an example. It is avoided as much as possible. Never is the child whipped; on the contrary, it is placed in a corner, away district domestication, are being the larger and longer breeds, such as the Leicester, the Cotswold or the Yorkshire. All these breeds have been kept on farms in England, in accordance with the system of agriculture, in domestic animal plays an important part, and contributes to the general profits. English breeds of cattle become by nature the farm, to strict doctrines, and are not adapted to large flocks and occupy ranges, as the Spanish. The English breeds of cattle are strictly the English system of farming as the Spanish breeds of sheep are the products of cattle or roaming habits of stock raising people. English breeds of sheep are both to wool and mutton, English breeds of cattle are both to milk and beef. English system of agriculture in the world, because it land yield a greater net income we can come to the English system, therefore perfect and the more will be our agriculture minor in this State should be farm a few sheep, and usually turn off a few hundred pounds of wool fat wethers for mutton. We have adopted this plan firmly continued it, because where the profits comeamento Record. For dealers of Santa Clara have formed a protective society in anticipation of the local option law, their intention being constitutionality. Oakland, the Athens of the Pacific, sustains eighteen churches—four Congregational, three Presbyterian, Episcopal, two Baptists, two German, two Roman Catholic, one Methodist, and one African.
