A RARE BIRD. — Mr. White, of Southport, who furnishes Taylor & Honey's store with wild ducks, brought in one day last week a bird called "Poor Job," which is very rarely met with on this coast. It somewhat resembles a crane, although smoother, and of the purest white. The legs and feet are black, long and slender; feet not webbed; the bill pointed and seven or eight inches in length. On the back is a large tuft of long open feathers, in an erect position, which nearly exactly resembles the tail of a bird of Paradise. As its name indicates it is very thin and spare, but on the whole it is a very beautiful bird.
