Anaheim Gazette SATURDAY, 11 OCTOBER $1, 1874 [From the Commercial Herald.] San Francisco Market. FLOUR. The present price of Golden Gate and Golden Age Extra rules from $4 871@5 12; other brands Extra, $4 622@3. Superline standard brands $4 200@2 25 to 190 lbs and outside brands $3 90@1. WHEAT. The market is strong, and prices for choice lots are at the moment a turn dearer. The range of the market is $1 300@1 55 per ct. OATS. The demand is light and prices but feelly supportist. Sales for the week in lots, are 1,500 sks at $1 45@1 47; 750 sks choice, $1 50@1 55; 250 sks "Surprise," $1 65; common light feed sell at $1 22@1 25; fair, $1 30. COTTON. Light receipts thus far of the California crop. FLAXSEED. Arrives from Oregon and the interior in small lots for the oil mill, price 3c for good clean. BYE. Owing to light receipts prices have rallied, with small sales at $1 10@1 15 per ct. PEAS. We note small sales at $1 75@2 per ct. BUCKWHEAT. Two or three small lots only have been received and sold at $3@3c per lb. MEMP. Five acres planted in hemp in Alameda County yielded 1,000 lbs of strong and superior fibre, worth $1 25 per lb. MUSTARD SEED. The receipts are quite light as yet, by no means adequate to the Eastern demand. We quote Brown 2l@3c for choice; White 1l@2c, with sales of 500 bags Brown 2l@2c. BEANS. There is but very little demand at... Two or three small lots only have been received and sold at 3½¢ per lb. HEMP. Five acres planted in hemp in Alameda County yielded 1,000 lbs of strong and superior fibre, worth $1.25 per lb. MUSTARD SEED. The receipts are quite light as yet, by no means adequate to the Eastern demand. We quote Brown 2½¢ for choice; White 1¼¢, with sales of 500 bags Brown at 2½¢. BEANS. There is but very little demand at present. We quote: Bayos, 2½¢; Pink, 1½¢; Red, 1¼¢; new White Pea, 3½¢; Small sales of White Butter at 3½¢. HAY. The supply is liberal. Small cargo sales are daily made within the range of $9@15¢ ton, according to quality. WOOL. In the absence of sales we have little to report except extreme dullness. Supplies are coming forward rapidly and filling all the warehouses to overflowing. There has not in a period of six years been such dullness as now, particularly in view of the large receipts, among which may be found many choice conditioned clips. Quotation terminal. Barry would bring perhaps 12½¢ if we had buyers. Good shipping grades can be had at 17¾¢ as per condition. TALLOW. The demand is light, large quantities offering with lower prices for all kinds. We note the following sales: 12,000 lbs prime, 7¢; 9,000 lbs fair, 6¢; 14,500 lbs Soap/Grease, 5½¢; 4,000 lbs roamed extra, 8½¢; 21,000 lbs refined, 7½¢. HIDES. The market is strong, with sales of 6,000 lbs Wet Salted at 9¢; Dry are in active request at 19¾¢ e for slaughterers' stock, usual selections. HONEY. The stock is liberal, notwithstanding the free shipments made and making overland, perhaps 150 tons already sent by the Pacific railway. We quote choice white Comb in frames, at 16¾¢ 18¢; do dark, 8½¢ 12¢; Strained, 5½¢ 1lb. BEESWAX. Quiet at 26½¢ per lb, with small stock and good demand. HOBS. The receipts are quite free. Present price 80@32¢ c, with little business. POTATOES. The daily supplies are quite liberal; the range of the market, 87½¢ @11¾ for the various descriptions. Sweets are very scarce, and firm at $1-50 per 100 lbs with an upward tendency. ONIONS. Are quite plentiful, the best Silver Skins selling at 7¢ per 100 lbs in a jobbing way. DAIRY PRODUCTS. Fresh California Roll Butter is plentiful, quotable at 47½¢ @50¢ for good grades, with a few fancy dairies held at 50@35¢ c. California Cheese is in light stock, selling at 11¢ per 16c. Fresh California Eggs are firm and scarce at 47½ per 50c. Eastern in large supply and are arriving quite freely, quotable within the range of 10¢ per 25c, according to condition. 6,000 dozen Oregon received in good order; quotable at 32½ per 35c.
