No means of identification. A few days ago a well known hunter in the vicinity, whilst in pursuit of a wounded deer, discovered in the valley known as "The Sink," situated in the Santa Ana mountains, and at the foot of a precipice almost perpendicular, and about two hundred feet in height, the bones of a skeleton. There was near the top of the cliff, in a crevice in the rocks, a bive of wild bees. At present the affair is wrapped in mystery. We trust to be able to excidate the matter before our next issue. DEEDS FILED. Lewis E. Smith to Langenberger Blochman & Co.—A lot of land in the township of San Joquin. Helen & Lynch to Almon Crum—Ten acres of land, for $288. Helen & Lynch to C. A. Hill, of the firm of Stewart & Hill, struck his hand with a hammer, rupturing one of the main blood vessels. The wound is very painful although not dangerous. Soap.—On our visit to Los Angeles last week, we called at the Soap Factory of J. S. Lambert, whose advertisement can be found in our columns. He intends enlarging his factory as he finds it impossible to fill the heavy orders he is constantly receiving. The quality of the soap manufactured by him cannot be surpassed, and we hope the Anaheim merchants will give it a trial. Read the advertisement of Roe & Garden. Sick.—Mr Isaac Johnson, who is well known in Anaheim, is quite sick in Los Angeles. He came down from Fort Tejon a few days ago. San Juan Items.—Watfield has been bound over to keep the peace for six months. The belle of San Juan has been captured by a Montana Eliter. Alta Almanac.—We have before us an Almanac for 1873 edited by Jno. S. Hittell and published by the Alta California. It contains many valuable statistics, interesting to Caltornians and is altogether superior in its "make up" to the general style of Almanacs. It can be obtained at P. A. Clark's bookstore.—Price 80 cents. Gone.—Judge Clark sent Finnesgan to town yesterday, under the care of Constable Pullen. He is a common drunkard and a nuisance generally, and to use a well-worn phrase "His loss is our gain." Goodman es Brown.—This case which has thrice been tried in Anaheim, was again decided in favor of the plaintiff in the County Court, last Wednesday. Land Sales — 40 acres on New River to John McDonald. GOODMAN ES BROWN.—This case which has thrice been tried in Anaheim, was again decided in favor of the plaintiff, in the County Court, last Wednesday. LAND SALES — 40 acres on New River to John McDonald. 40 acres on New River to E. N. McDonald and Geo. F. Bixby. 40 acres near Anaheim to J. M. Gibson. 80 acres near Anaheim to Lafayette Lewis. 40 acres near Anaheim to James Riley. 80 acres on Las Bolsas to Nathan Sears. Theft.—On Thursday night last some person, without the fear of God or Mr Melrose, in his heart, entered the garden of the last named gentleman and stole therefrom a handsome four-year old orange tree. That tree was our especial pet and its loss is a great annoyance to us. If the person who stole it will make himself known, we will send him the "Southern Californian" for a year and not charge him a cent—aye, and give him a free ad, too. MISTAKEN.—"Fineegan" reports a heavy rain fall in the early part of this week. He says that he was taking a quiet siesta in the bottom of a ditch within the "Fence" and when he awaked he found that he was completely soaked outside as well as inside. It is rumored that two small boys and a watering pot caused the ballucination. PANOBAMA.—There was quite a large attendance at Enterprise Hall on Wednesday evening, to see M'Leod's Panorama and Dissolving Views. The children were all highly delighted. Copies of the "CALIFORNIAN" put up in wrappers, for sale at Clark's. FARMER'S CLUB.—At the meeting of farmers held at Fairview on last Saturday, a permanent organization was effected. Hon. Edward Evey was elected President; F. Kellogg Vice President; N H. Mitchell Secretary; and J. W. Brackett Treasurer. The regular meetings will be held hereafter on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month. Notice.—The regular meeting of Anaheim Lodge No. 207 F and A M. will be held this evening. NEW ADVERTISEMENT.—We would call attention to the extended "ad" of Messrs Stewart & Hill new today. It will be seen that they intend to keep constantly on hand a large stock of every thing in their line. BORN, Howe.—In Westminster, January 5th, to the wife of Con Howe, a son.
