Several interesting communications are unavoidably crowded out of this issue, but will appear in our next.

Removals.—Mrs. Hawkins has removed her dress making establishment to Conter st. near Palm.
Prof. Dean, has occupied the premises vacated by Mrs. Hawkins.
Returned.—Mr. and Mrs. Richard Neimann returned from their wedding trip on Sunday last and were serenaded in the evening by the Anaheim Band.

For San Francisco.—The favorite schooner Emilie Francen, Capt. Jensen is announced to sail from Anaheim Landing for San Francisco tomorrow, freight carried cheap.
Pictures of the Band — We are indebted to our skillful photographer Mr. Watrous, for a neat cabinet photograph of the members of the Anaheim Band. It is worthy of preservation as a part of our local history.
Grand Jury Report.—The Grand Jury made their report to the County Court on the 2nd inst. They find 49 indictments, 25 of which are for the crime of murder and accessories; the remaining 24 for various felonies. His Honor Judge Sepulveda complimented them upon the manner in which they had discharged their duty. In regard to the Chinese riot, the jury report the officers of the City and County as being deplorably inefficient in the performance of their duties, and think it is to this fact that the most of the bloodshed and horror of that occasion is due.
Of 43 County Judges elected at our State election, 24 are Democrats, 17 Republicans, 1 Independent and one (Del Norte Co.) not heard from when this report was made up. Supposed Democrat.
Filed for Record.
Ramon Peralta et ux., to Philip Davis, four acres in the Santa Ana ranch for $100.
H. D Polhemus to P. Granet, lot in Anaheim for $350.
Bananas.—Mrs T. E. Schmidt has favored us with specimens of this delicious fruit, two large bunches of which have this season grown and ripened in the garden of Schmidt's Nursery. The plants are now in their second year's growth, having been originally brought by Mr. F. Langenberger from Woodward's Gardens, San Francisco. The bunches contained about 100 bananas each, and the fruit is now, some fully Empress Augusta of Germany is exposed to any agitation in Germany. "Woman's rights," and is said to be recently refused to give an audience a committee of ladies who desired present her a petition on the subject.
A personal encounter occurred in San Francisco on the 1st inst., between Judge Delos Lake of the Municipal Court and Charles Do Young, published of the Chronicle, in which it is claimed that Lake shot at De Young, and accidently shot Judge E. D. Wheeler who was passing by. Lake was rested and gave bail.
The Meeting on the 20th.—We have our friends in Los Nietos, Santa Ana and all neighboring communities will member the meeting to be held here on the 20th inst., to take further action in regard to County Division.
Santa Ana.—We enjoyed a pleasant visit on Saturday last to Santa Ana and the Williams Settlement. The hotel at Santa Ana is quite an ornament to the town, being 40 by 60 feet dimensions with rustic siding and 2 stairs in height. It shows well from the surrounding country. The artesian well work was suspended to repair too. The Williams Settlement has settled very fast within the last year and raised some of the best crops in the state.
"The American Home."—A very interesting little magazine of the above name comes to us from Boston; Chatham H. Taylor & Co., Publishers, 51 Water Street. It has 48 pages and is furnished at the low price of $1 per year.
Westminster.—Rev. Mr. Webb favors us with some interesting items of the remarkable progress of that thriving colony. The selling of land was only commenced in November 1870, yet there have already been 45 farms sold, aggregating about 4,500 acres. Twenty settlers are already on the tract, and, as only 25 farm tracts remain to be sold, the chances for joining the colony will probably soon be gone. Regular religious services are held, and it speaks volumes for the

The plants are now in their second year's growth, having been originally brought by Mr. F. Langenberger from Woodward's Gardens, San Francisco. "The Overland Monthly."—This popular magazine is at hand for December, the closing No. of the seventh volume. Among its contents "Our First Telegram" will peculiarly interest editors, while the article on "Wine Making in California" is of especial value in our wine making county. Published by John H. Carmany & Co., San Francisco at $4 per year.
Drury Melone, Secretary of State elect, has filed his official bond in the office of the County Clerk, in the penal sum of $10,000.
F. W. Bashr, State Treasurer elect, and John Rosenfield, State Harbor Commissioner elect, filed their official bonds in the office of Secretary of State, the former in the sum of $100,-000, and the latter in the sum of $50,000
Shark Oil — It may not be generally known that we have among our articles of export, Shark Oil, which is obtained at the Landing from sharks caught there.
Arrived — The shooner Emilie Fransen, Capt. Jensen, arrived at Anaheim Landing on Monday last from Soquel, with 100 M. feet lumber to Dicken Huntington & Co.
Theft — Mr. Joseph Colson's house in the Westminster Settlement was entered and robbed of four pairs of blankets, a few days since, during the absence of the proprietor at Anabeim.
Our Winter Fare — What would Eastern people say to new potatoes, green corn, and green beans, planted in September and ready for cooking Thanksgiving day? And yet we have just fared sumptuously on all these things, raised in the garden of John W. Clark Esq. Come on you hungry people.
Personal — Mr. Hunter, of Canada, is here examining our water power etc with a view of erecting a grist and flouring mill.
