DODGE AUTOMOBILE GIVEN FLOOD TEST With the excitement and turmoil of the recent San Antonio flood at its height, Dr. B. Spillar of the Exchange Sawmills Sales Co., recalled that he had left his Ridge Brothers car in a storage garage and they had placed it in the basement only the night before. As the flood grew worse, and the car had been submerged for three days, Spillar made up his mind that Christmas and New Year to us are seasons of recollection, appreciation and inspiration, as we extend our greetings, with the wish that you may share bountifully in the prosperity of the years to come. The S. Q. R. STORE Christmas Greetings We take this opportunity of extending to our many friends the sweetest wishes for a joyful Christmas and a Happy New Year. Jackson's Men's Furnishings DODGE AUTOMOBILE GIVEN FLOOD TEST With the excitement and turmoil of the recent San Antonio flood at its height, D. B. Spillar of the Exchange Sawmills Sales Co., recalled that he had left his Judge Brothers car in a storage garage and they had placed it in the basement only the night before. As the flood grew worse, and the car had been submerged for three days, Spillar made up his mind that there was nothing left for him to do except smile silently and bid his roadster a fond farewell. A sorry-looking sight, soaked with grease and mud as well as water, the car was finally dragged out into the light of day. As he found that the expense of cleaning and reassembling the car was comparatively small, however, the owner took the chance. To his surprise, after a thorough cleaning the emerald was as good as before the flood, and the readster ran like a new car. Of 40 or 50 cars in the same basement, the Dogge Brothers car was the only one which did not require repainting. As Mr. Spillar says, he feels that he now has "a car that has stood the act test." ROLLICKING, ROMPING SPEED COMEDY AT FAIRYLAND ...W. B. Fatton and his admirable company will appear here Sunday at the Fairyland Theater in the Empire State Producing Company's newest comedy, "Chasing Sally," and it is safe to predict that after the curtain falls on the last act, the audience will go home thankful for the fact that there's is at least one player and excellent company that never fails to satisfy the most conservative theater patron, and excites a demand for more theatrical attractions of this kind, "Chasing Sally" is a rollicking, romping speed comedy, funnier than Grandma's hat. In the leading character of Felix Fox, Mr. Patton is a delight and clearly proves his theory that laughs are communicable, for the first snicker of the very beginning of this comedy spreads immediately into a laughing epidemic. Jackson’s Men’s Furnishings Travel in California In the Days of the Padres Mile after weary mile, the Padres trudged along El Camino Real. They tilled the soil, accomplished engineering feats, taught and preached to the Indians, but much of their work went for naught—the odds against them were too great. Modern California finds the automobile one of the greatest aids to progress. Wonders have been done with its help. The Orange County Auto Club has an information bureau that's very much on the job.
