Main 279 LA HABRA NEWS What is said to be a big improvement in telephone service is being completed at La Habra where the Whittier Home Telephone Company is installing automatic equipment of the latest type. According to officials of the company the equipment contains more modern improvements on the automatic systems than are in service in any other office west of the Rocky Mountains. The new system does away entirely with the necessity for having an operator on duty at La Habra, and except for occasional inspections by employees from the Whittier office, the equipment will be unattended. BUENA PARK NOTES The Woman's Club met at the community hall Thursday afternoon with Misdames George Cole, Pauline Cole and John Page as hostesses. Mrs. W. B. Shaw acted as secretary in the absence of Mrs. Henry Warren, who was a delegate at the district federation convention. The Declaration of Independence was very ably read by Mrs. J. F. Simpson and the club joined in singing "America." The next meeting, December 1, will be a disarmament meeting, which is in charge of the program committee.
