THE TIME TO BUY ORANGE GROVES
Later on when crop is colored groves will show twice the crop and prices for groves will advance. It has been so every year. Many groves will then be taken off the market. Others will be higher. Let us show you some, regular paying groves. Will show packing-house records. We won't let you buy a bad grove.
The finest and the best 20.4 acre orange grove that stands on "God's" footstool. The foregoing is rather a broad statement, but when I can produce figures which will show its financial power it must of necessity mean that I can show you something worthy of consideration. If you are a citrus man the big trees, so radiant in health, thrifty in appearance, with an exceptionally heavy setting for next bearing, will impress you. Every inch of soil is absolutely the best in Orange county.. I have personally inspected this grove, and have failed to find a weak feature attached to this splendid acreage. This grove will show an earning power of over $1000 an acre for this year. Then there is its wonderful location to be considered, only three blocks from the new postoffice near the new city park, a block and a half from the Park View tract, with the church on one street and the High School on the other, with a frontage on three streets. Just think what this will mean in a very short time. Can't you as a business man see the subdivision possibilities connected with this. The only reason this opportunity is offered is due to the fact that one of the owners is desirous of returning East. You can purchase this wonderful grove at a very reasonable price. Just fumigated.

FULLERTON MAN CALLS FOR VOLUNTEERS IN RED CROSS WORK
In order to reach a large number of Fullerton citizens and ranchers in the Fullerton district, W. Starbuck, chairman of the fifth Red Cross call for the Fullerton district, has asked the Herald to publish the following appeal for volunteer workers in the coming membership drive:
"This is an appeal for volunteer workers. It is an urgent appeal. We need you—need you badly. I have helped in the four previous calls having had charge of two. There is more good feeling toward the Red Cross than I ever saw but everybody is so busy, busy, busy. My introduction, 'I represent the Red Cross,' opens wide every door—no exceptions, but they are really so busy.
Thus I go from house to house for workers. I have spent enough time to have organized the whole district but do not seem to get anywhere.
"I have often read and heard pupils recite that famous story of the great Scotch leader who called for a certain number of volunteers for a death task and turned his back and said, 'Any who will volunteer, take three stetsps forward.' Turning around he saw a solid front and asked, 'Are there no brave?' He was advised, 'Every one stepped three steps.'
They do not have to read history for this. It happened, over and over again, in our camps right here and in every camp. Taey could not call for any certain limited number and get them without taking the whole company.
Now, the 'Great Mother in Peace and War' is trying, among thousands of other things, to teach thousands of these same brave boys to make a living without eyes and hands.
"I call for volunteers. I want workers in every section of this district. Will you help? High school and junior college girls can help. I want boys to go to every drilling rig in the newer oil fields. I want all the former workers I can get. Do not wait for me. Send in your name, if..."

"I think this so important that I am giving all my time and lots of expense. I seriously need both. Will you please try to spare just a few hours? Please volunteer now."
"Fraternally,
"W. STARBUCK,
'Chairman Fifth Red Cross Roll Call for Fullerton Section.'"
Klepper Doesn't Want Bill To Manage Club
SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 7.—Denial that he wants Bill Kenworthy to run the Portland baseball club for him next year was about all William H. Klepper, new president of the Beavers, had to say here today. He said there was nothing to the story that he wanted Kenworthy.
Klepper is en route to Los Angeles to attend the Coast league meeting there tomorrow.

The trees have an exceptionally heavy setting for next year, with every indication of sizing up well. Soil conditions fine. This grove is all piped. There is a nice home, all modern, with garage, which makes this proposition exceptionally attractive. We doubt if there is another 5 acres which can compare with this. Anyone purchasing this beautiful grove will feel greatly satisfied, especially when the fruit colors up. Better look into this before it is too late.
