GIRL WHO SERVED TERM NOTED SLEUTH DROPS IN JAIL WILL BE AT LOCAL THEATER
Speeders, beware! Don't get caught in the same fix as Bebe aDniels. Everyone remembers when this pretty screen star was incarcerated in the Santa Ana county jail at the request of Judge Cox because she believed (so they say) that "road burning" was a great past time.
At any rate, those who have never seen Bebe will be afforded that opportunity starting tomorrow at the California theater when her latest motion picture production entitled "The Speed Girl," flashes on the silver sheet.
Whether the picture was built around her late jail experience or whether it was not remains to be seen. The theater management really does not know. Well, we'll all find out Tuesday night. The picture though is a veritable "riot."
An added attraction on the same program will be the famous Hannelle trio, three lovely maidens who entertain the patrons with clever musical selections. The act played the "big time" and was considered among the season's "finds."
A surprise awaits music lovers at the California theater. That theater has secured the services of Charles Hawley, noted pipe organist, who will be the permanent organist at the California. He is one of the best in the west, and his renditions are splendid.
Berger Company Sells Tract To Fullerton Man
The C. B. Berger Company has sold ten acres on South Los Angeles street, what is known as the Coate place to John Neuschäfer of Fullerton. The property is improved with bearing Valencia oranges and with a beautiful modern home.
The Neuschäfer's have large farming interests in Missouri, which was their home until about a year ago, when they came to California. They have septent that time in traveling over the state and investigating conditions with the idea of locating permanently. They spent considerable time at Fresno in the San Luis Obispo Valley.
While it was hoped that Philo Gubb, the well-known detective who graduated with honors, after a course of ten lessons, from the Rising Sun Detective Bureau, would be able to come here to help solve the mystery of the six men, it was learned today that he could not arrive. Tracing the noted sleuth through the editorial department of the magazine in which his exploits were given to the world, it was discovered that Philo is a bit imaginative writing like Sherlock Holmes and most other, really noted and efficient detectives.
The mystery of the six men still remains as deep a puzzle as ever.
The advertising department of the paper received orders to insert some advertising which stated the date of their arrival but that was all.
The agency which placed the copy was called up and states that his clients have sworn him to secrecy as to their identity and the reason for the invasion of our city. He stated, however, that their errand was legitimate and that they were fine congenial fellows and then hung up the telephone on us.
With Philo Cubb out of the running it was decided to try to get help from Sherlock Holmes, but the authorities were informed that Sherlock was a myth, just an imaginative creation of A. Conan Doyle and that Doyle lives in England anyway.
A local amateur has volunteered his services to the authorities and has set out on a hot trail which he claims to have uncovered through the assistance of a clairvoyant and he has been given permission to free lance on the job.
In the meantime, the advent of the men is expected within a few hours and it is hoped that their arrival will not create any great disturbance that would be regretted or reflect on the peace and sobriety of our city.

Interesting Display Of
Men's Clothes In Store
A very interesting display of men's suits has been presented in a section of F. A. Youngbluth's window. The feature of the displays is a collection of suits which represent a wide range of prices. The idea has been to bring out the fact that in this season's clothes choice in the matter of cost is practically unrestricted.
