How Lydia E.Pinkham's Vegetable Compound Got Me Up Afton, Tenn. — "I want other suffering women to know what Lydia E.Pinkham's Vegetable Compound has done for me. During the Change of Life I was in bed for eight months and had two good doctors treating me but they did me no good. A friend advised me to take Lydia E.Pinkham's Vegetable Compound, which I did, and in a short time I felt better. I had all kinds of bad spells, but they all left me. Now when I feel weak and nervous I take the Vegetable Compound and it always does me good. I wish all women would try it during the Change of Life for I know it will do them good. If you think it will induce some one to try the Vegetable Compound you may publish this letter." — Mrs. A. KELLER, Afton, Tennessee. BEANS NEARLY GONE Just one carload of association beans remains in the Smeltzer warehouse at Fullerton and but few belonging to independent growers. It is expected to clear the house of associated beans before the new crop comes on, it is said, but this depends somewhat on the amount of seed beans that are turned back by the ranchers following the close of the planting season. SANTA ANA POLICE HATE TO BE KIDDED The Santa Ana police department is of the opinion that the San Diego guardians of the law change their mind too often. A wire requesting the arrest of Alfonse Ardourel and Anna Silver, was received in Santa Ana and the pair were arrested by Officers Boynton, Ryan and Jaynes at 3 o'clock Friday morning when they were seen driving through the city in a Ford car. Four trunks and two suit cases were found in the far bearing the initials A. P. A. The pair were lodged in the county jail until this morning, when a second message from San Diego asked their release. Sam Jernigan, city marshal, would like to know what motive, if any, the San Diego police had in asking for the arrest.
