Thursday, June 2, 1921 Town and County Topics Former residents of New Jersey and Arkansas will pull off postponed picnics Saturday, June 4 in Sycamore grove park, Los Angeles. There will be all the usual features of the state plenies such as county registers, badges, hot coffee, program, and a basket dinner. New Jersey folks will meet in one part of the park and the Arkansas people in another and programs will be separate. Mr. and Mrs. George Findlay, formerly of Anaheim who moved to Long Beach recently, have purchased the property on South Los Angeles street formerly owned by E. Claybaugh. Jose Andrade and Mrs. Tom Sturart of Ventura, have been guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Clay on Sycamore street. They returned to their home Tuesday, Monday Mr. and Mrs. Clay, Mrs. Stwart, Jose Andrade, Mrs. S. Portillo, Marle Kuhn of Placentia, and Mrs. E. Slquerlod of Brea motored to Long Beach, where they spent the day. Miss Bridgeman formerly of Anaheim, is spending a few days with Miss Lydia Davis. Miss Bridgeman was in business with her mother at the Fairyland Inn up to a year ago and is now residing in Los Angeles. Headquarters will be established at Heying's Pharmacy, Los Angeles and West Center streets from 9:30 a.m., under the direction of Mrs. Fannie W. Fairfield Home Society, assisted by a local committee, under the leadership of Mrs. Dr. Brastad, chairman. The following will assist on the committee: Dr. Raiche and Mrs. Witman. Patronesses: Mrs. Garnett and Mrs. Claire. The committee will sell hearts at prominent conventions. Children may call at headquarters after 9:30 a.m. to sell and report at same place by 4:30. Prizes will be awarded to boys and girls collecting amount of money: GIRLS FIRST PRIZE—Lavaliere donated by Mr. Witman. SECOND PRIZE—a pass for the Fairyland Theater, for month of publication by Mr. Head. THIRD PRIZE—Box of candy, donated by Fairyland Inn. BOYS FIRST PRIZE—Flashlight, donated by Mr. Martenet. SECOND PRIZE—a pass to Fairyland Theater for the month of publication by Mr. Head. THIRD PRIZE—Box of candy, donated by Weadon's Confectionery. The Society hopes for the serious consideration and support of Anaheim in carrying on its work which needs no argument know that each and every child should have a good home. ANAHEIM DAILY HERALD Mr. and Mrs. Juan Bandini and son left this morning for Imperial, where they will spend a few days looking over their ranch. The case of Haskell against Struttman was heard yesterday before Judge Howard. Decision was reserved. The action involves an automobile accident on West Broadway some weeks ago, in which the plaintiff seeks to recover damages. J. S. Ward, F. H. Houck, George Wentz, John Wentz and Ben Yorba returned Wednesday morning from a fishing trip to Cuycamaca Lake and Morino dam. They were fortunate in catching 100 pounds of black bass. Mrs. Frank Trotter and children left yesterday for their home in Wallingford, Wash: They have been guests of Mrs. Trotter's sister, Mrs. W. B. Holland, for the past three months. Mrs. Alice Cochran has returned from a visit with friends in Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Peters left yesterday for El Centro where they will visit for a short time. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Tedrick will guest of Mr. and Mrs. F. Weisel night. George Allen and W. B. Allen re-tored to Los Angeles yesterday business. The Ladies' Aid of the Christian church held its regular meeting day. Miss Luna Wellman was a business visitor in Los Angeles today. Walter Knox transacted business Los Angeles yesterday. HOSPITAL PLANS TO BE DISCUSSED AT MEETING TONIGHT The directors of the Chamber Commerce will meet in the Chamber rooms to discuss with members of the Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce the proposition of a community hospital either in the form of an addition to the present county hospital or an arrangement that will adequately care for the people of all sections of the county. Physicians of the county will cuss the proposition with the district Mrs. Frank Trotter and children left yesterday for their home in Wallingford, Wash. DALE QUARTON WILL CRUISE TO EUROPE ON NAVY VESSEL Dale Quarton, a former Anaheim boy who has been at Annapolis naval academy for the past three years, leaves this week for a month's cruise with his mates. They will go to London and as far north as Norway, then taking in the southern ports at Portugal, Gibraltar and home. This is a trip which the midshipmen look forward to every year. Last year a Pacific coast cruise was taken. On his return to the academy, Quarton will be off on his September leave. One month out of the year is given to the boys for a vacation. This ye the boys had to pass a swimming t which at first seemed quite stringe but with careful application of sailor's knowledge. Dale passed w flying colors and was awarded month's leave from duty. He expects to spend it in Californi with relatives and friends. D Quarton is one of the class of 11 and has been an honor to Anahe in all the work and study he has tempted during his term.
