The letter speaks for itself:

SAVINGS ACCOUNT IN LOCAL BANK IS FORGOTTEN
Here is a good story, a true one too, and it has nothing to do with fish or fishing. This is a narrative of a woman who thought she had $15 and will find that she has $107.83 and may have more.
In January, 1906, Mrs. H. H. Pierce, who lives in Pomona deposited $15 in the American Savings bank in Anaheim. In October, the same year, Mrs. Pierce withdrew the $15. Later the same month, she deposited $53 and the next month, deposited $11 more, but failed to bring or send her passbook with the deposits and also when she withdrew the $15 in October.
Today, officials of the American Savings bank received a letter from Mrs. Pierce, asking them if she still has $15 to her credit, and in the envelope enclosed the pass-pook showing the $15 deposit in January, 1906, over 15 years ago.
A letter will go to Mrs. Pierce this afternoon telling her that there is a balance of $107.83 to her credit as a result of the $53 and $11 deposits in the fall of 1906, the difference between the total of the two sums, $64, is interest accrued since 1906. If Mrs. Pierce leaves the balance 30 days longer, $2 will be added to that sum as interest.
"It should be a lesson to people," said Mr. Benjamin, cashier of the First National today, "that it doesn't do a bit of harm to forget you have a balance in a savings bank. But better still, it is good to keep adding to the balance and keep forgetting to withdraw the funds until such time as necessity compels it."
