EEN BIRTHDAY TO FLY LAST NIGHT Edna Heineman entertained in of her friends and schoolmates country home on the Brook-road last night, the occasion being her sixteenth birthday anniversary. The rooms were decorated with dainty rose buds of various colors. During the evening Wade Westlake sang several solos, accompanied by Miss Mitchell, and the remainder of the time was spent with games and contests. Frances Adams and Hugh Kirkwood won the prizes given for the most absent minded in the party. Dancing was enjoyed to the music furnished by Wade Westlake and Mabel Mitchell. Late in the evening refreshments were served to Frances Adams, Verna Bacon, Mary Abbott, Melba Dugas, Nora Sandersfeld, Joseph Mabel Mitchell, Wade Mohr, Johnnie Feethamner, Eugene Tolle, Lynn Ford Elliott, and Hugh Reed Johnson of Whit honored one of the Heineman. WHIST CLUB GUESTS YESTERDAY Mrs. Herman Backs wishing hostess yesterday the Wednesday Whist game Mrs. W. P. Quarton, Mrs. Backs second, and Palmer third. Quarton scored high, Mrs. Backs second, and Mrs. Minnie Palmer third. Following the game a social hour was enjoyed with a delicious lunchceon being served to Mesdames W. P. Quarton, Fred Mickle, Tom Detrick, L. D. Abbott, Wade Quarton, L. D. Whitterrall, Max Neblung, W. Jewell, Carl Martin and Minnie Palmer. The home was artistically decorated for the occasion with pink roses and urns from the Backs' gardens. INFORMAL AFTERNOON WITH FRIENDS An informal hour was spent at the home of Mrs. H. A. Johnston on East Broadway yesterday when a few of her friends dropped in while calling on different friends in this town. The guests were Mr. and Mrs. Bethune of Los Angeles, Miss Raymond, Mr. and Mrs. Stark of Vancouver, Canada. In the evening a family dinner of the Wickett's and Johnston's was enjoyed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wickett on Broadway. REBEKAH LODGE FRIDAY NIGHT Friday night will be another big night for the Lois Rebekah lodge. Initiation of six candidates will be held. A business meeting will also be held followed by a wonderful time planned by the committee in charge in the banquet hall. Every Rebekah and visiting member in the town are cordially invited to attend. TURKEY DINNER AT PANNIER HOME Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Pannier of East street were the hosts Tuesday night to a delicious turkey dinner served at 6:30. The table and rooms were decorated with roses and ferns. Covers were laid for Mr. and Mrs. Charles Theirfelder, Mrs. Ridenback, Juanita Ridenback, Miss M. Whipperman and Mr. and Mrs. Pannier and family. Following the dinner an evening of music and conversation was enjoyed. BUSINESS MEETING AND PRACTICE The Methodist Choir will hold its monthly business meeting this evening at 7:30 sharp at the church. Every member is requested to be present as important matters will be brought up. Following the meeting practice will start at 8 o'clock sharp. Addresses from Mrs. Tedford who gave out questions to the mothers on child training and the discussion of the same, was held and Mrs. Morris, District No. 1 president. Mrs. Morris spoke on the question of the county free library, giving the facts and figures and showing what a small task it would be for the people of the community to support such a benefit. She told of its need and the necessity of the people to make their wishes known on this matter. A large attendance was present to listen to these interesting talks, which were followed by a social hour under the charge of Mrs. Hughes.
