Bulletin—B-9 Thursday, April 30, 1958 County Servicemen AIRMAN WILLIAM N. SPICER ... sent to Tokyo William Neil Spicer. Airman third-class, left on April 20 for Johnson Air Force Base near Tokyo, Japan, after spending a 30-day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mont Spicer, 10641 Lexington Ave., West Anaheim. Airman Spicer enlisted in August 1958 and was sent to Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, for basic training. He graduated from 18 weeks training at Amarillo Air Force Base as an airplane frame repairman with an average grade of 92, the second highest in his class. Spicer graduated from Anaheim High School and in civilian life was employed at the Alpha Beta Market, Brookhurst and Ball Rd., Anaheim. During his furlough he was honor guest at a "Farewell and Happy Landing" party given by his parents. Thirty relatives and friends signed his scrapbook. OR TURKEYS 49 lb. Pike, 23-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd R. Pike, who live at 6711 Acacia St., Cypress, completed the eight-week general supply course on April 17 at Ft. Ord. He received instruction in the fundamentals of Army supply procedures and the preparation of supply records and forms. Pike entered the Army last November and completed basic training at the fort. He is a 1955 graduate of Anaheim High School and was employed by Darnell Rubber Corp., Downey before entering the Army. Capt. Carl R. Bower, who has been stationed with the U.S. Navy in Souel, Korea, is spending a 30-day leave with his wife and children. 91127 Marchard St., Garden Grove, before leaving the middle of May for Washington D.C. and duty at San Juan, Puerto Rico. He is also visiting his mother, Mrs. Cora Bower in Santa Ana. Capt. Bower, who has served in the Navy for 20 years is a native son of Santa Ana and a graduate of Santa Ana High School and a Marine School. Army Pvt. Charles W. Humphrey, 24, son of Mr. and Mrs. Homer C. Humphrey, 1517 East 4th St., Santa Ana, completed eight-weeks basic Army administration course at Ft. Ord on April 10. He entered the Army in November 1958 and completed basic training at the fort. He is a 1953 graduate of Santa Ana High School.
