Bulletin Wednesday, April 29, 1958 Anaheim Father Sues For Injuries to Son SANTA ANA (OCNS) — Damages of $110,000 are sought in a personal injury suit that has been filed in Superior Court by Anaheim man and his son. Charles E. Hartung, 881 Avacado, claims his son, Charles, was seriously injured while riding as a passenger in a vehicle driven by Thomas Ernest Nicholas, 311 E. Ellsworth, Anaheim. Nicholas assertedly drove his car at a high rate of speed despite the warnings of his passenger. The automobile, proceeding on Holy Jim Canyon north of Trabuco Canyon Rd., left the road and overturned. The accident occurred June 18 of last year. Also named as defendants in the case are the parents of the driver, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Nicholas. The court is asked for $100,000 for the youth and $10,000 in damages for the victim's father. The computer, which can "read" at the rate of 40,000 documents a minute, will go to work for Blue Cross in the metropolitan New York area. It is being built at the Minneapolis Honeywell's Datamatic plant in Boston. Helicopters are credited with performing nearly 10,000 evacuations and rescues of Allied troops during the Korean War. BONEY Anaheim, California KEystone 5-2113 Orange County AID Fund Helped By Bullock's Employees of Bullock's newly opened Orange County Fashion square store have made a first year pledge to this area's charities more than $7,000 through the AID-United Givers Charitable donors association. Judge Robert Gardner, president of the association, revealed the figure in a special message of congratulations and thanks to store superintendent J. H. Adams and AID chairman Mrs. C. R. Fagot, personnel manager. Bullock's employees contributions are returned to the community of residence for distribution. Through their generosity charities in Anaheim will receive $517.08 during the next 12 months. Judge Gardner noted that 71 per cent of the Bullock's employees are participating in the AID program at the store, including 60 per cent of the total who are giving the full AID standard contribution of 2 minutes pay per week. "This is an exceptionally fine record for a chapter's first year as a part of the AID structure," the judge said in his message to the employes. "The acceptance of the individual's responsibility to its neighbors that this pledge represents is a good indication of the line spirit prevalent among Bullock's employees and also an accurate reflection of the company's attitude in these matters." Bullock's employees are now joined with several thousand other Orange Countians who do their charitable giving through membership in the AID donors program. As the train passes over the radioactive material, the rays penetrate each car, the contents of which absorb a certain amount of the radiation depending on their mass. The overhead counter records the degree of absorption and feeds the information to an electronic computer, which figures the weight of the car and records it.
