Here and There The Opti-Mrs. Club of the Breakfast Club of Anaheim will meet Monday at the home of Mrs. Virgil Pontzious, 545 Haven Dr. Anaheim. Each member is asked to bring her linen contribution for the Optimist Boys Home. Final plans for the steak fry will be made at the meeting and everyone is urged to attend. Mrs. Jack George of Capistrano Beach, president of the Women's Architectural League of Orange County and Mrs. Rumont Hougan of Corona del Mar, delegate for the League will attend the central committee interim meeting of the California Women's Architectural League April 28 and 29 in San Diego. VAN DE WATER ... symposium speaker Dr. John Van deWater To Speak At Secretaries Week Luncheon Highlight of Secretaries Week in Orange County will be the symposium - luncheon sponsored by the Orange Empire Chapter of National Secretaries Association (I) to be held tomorrow in the Charlot Room, Anaheim Bowl. One of the speakers for the outstanding day will be Dr. John R. Van deWater, head of executive programs and conferences, and associate professor of industrial relations and business law, graduate School of Business Administration, University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Van deWater is an attorney-at-law and member of the California Bar, as well as industrial relations and management consultant to business and industrial firms. He was formerly a labor relations representative to the Ford Motor Company and North American Aviation, Inc. He has lectured on "Ideological Combat" to the Air War College, United States Air Force; and, was a participant a National Strategy Seminars, Army War College, United States Army. Dr. Van deWater has authored several books in addition to directing the executive program at UCLA, which is designed especially to meet the need of the Southern California business community for an advanced management program not involving detachment of the participant from his job. The program is focused on general management, running for the entire academic year. Each year there are participating in the program a select group of 100 experienced, senior executives and higher level management personnel. Dr. Van deWater's sparkling personality and keen intuition are destined to give each person a tending the Symposium somethin worthwhile to "bring home" and enrich their lives. The new officers are Jim Powell, camping and outing; Ken Haverstick, in charge of awards; Judy Burnett, secretary; and Shirley Kelly, publicity. Displays depicting "Down on the Farm" were judged by parents with the prize going to Den 4, under Mrs. Gladys Zetterberg. Michael Burnett of Den 9 was voted best - dressed cub of the month at the recent Youth Day held at John Marshall School.
