Guardianshin Sought For Crash Victim's Son By Orange County News Service A petition of guardianship for Stephen Megill Jr., 9, the son of late Stephen Robert Megill, killed in the Anaheim oil tanker truck crash and fire, has been filed by Ruth Burton, 12351 Bluebell Lane, Anaheim, and Ruth Rainey, the youth's grandmother, Long Beach. The petition was filed in superior court yesterday and will come up for a hearing May 8 in the court of Superior Judge Raymond Thompson. The petition explains that the youth had been living with Ruth Burton since the death of his mother, Beckie, a year ago. It asks that the child remain with the Anaheim woman. Listed as the estate of the deceased are a car, a bank account of $60, and a life insurance policy for $7,500. Relatives of the deceased have filed a $500,000 wrongful death suit on behalf of Stephen and his sister, Beckie. The petition only made the request of guardianship of the boy.
