New Beauty for You!
By IRIS LYNNE
You look better and you feel better when you "stand tall." No matter what your figure may be you will find it greatly enhanced by good posture. "Self check" yourself often to see that you are following the rules set forth here:
Good posture may actually be uncomfortable at first, so make sure you follow it diligently. Quite often the rib cage becomes sore from keeping it properly lifted. Check this, and keep ribcage raised high. It trims the waist, and adds to the allure of the bust.
Hold the neck in line with the torso. Avoid pulling the back and forming a double ear avoid thrusting the head as this only tends to the body out of alignment. Kneel slightly relaxed, with bend; and the back too slightly curved — too straight only makes you be most feminine andDon't allow a tense take over. If you are doing work, get up and staggerly. Tension can easily poor posture, then do so about the entire cause of pace, or a c environment if this is posTo line up your body ture: good" try this method with back flat to a wa head, shoulder blades, bac cage, buttocks, and heelsThis aligns the pelvis automatically pull the up and in.
Here is a word of truth sheer bribery: You can tes off your waist by good posture.

torso. Avoid pulling the head back and forming a double chin. Also avoid thrusting the head forward as this only tends to throw the body out of alignment. Keep knees slightly relaxed, with a slight bend; and the back too should be slightly curved — too ramrod straight only makes you seem to be most feminine and bossy.
Don't allow a tense feeling to take over. If you are doing exacting work, get up and stretch frequently. Tension can easily cause poor posture, then do something about the entire cause. Try a change of pace, or a change of environment if this is possible.
To line up your body for "posture: good" try this method. Stand with back flat to a wall, touch head, shoulder blades, back of rib cage, buttocks, and heels to wall. This aligns the pelvis joints and automatically pull the diaphram up and in.
Here is a word of truth but is sleer bribery: You can take inches off your waist by practicing good posture.

Beauty Tips
from ME to YOU
by Lillian Ruskin
Learn the art of retouching — just like photographers can retouch pictures you can learn to do the same to yourself . . . There are now pencils available in skin tones to touch up those flaws that need a little covering up.
For instance . . . shadows beneath the eyes are brightened by lightly stroking the pencil over the area — this also helps to intensity the eyes, as well expressioned lines or cracks disappear when pencil is lightly used and dusted with a little powder — red blotches, broken veins and other blemishes are blurred when dotted with the pencil and the edges smoothed out .
A few don’ts when there are children about: Don’t leave poisonous cleaning agents close to floor cupboards. A dangling iron cord can lead to disaster — also a toaster. Turn pot handles inward, away from the edge of the stove. I think it is always a good thing to remind ourselves of these dangers but we are inclined to get careless when everything is going all right .
Another reminder for this week . . . we are offering the regular $15 Zoto Cold Creme Wave — complete with haircut, styling and set for only $8.50.
Don’t miss this opportunity to BEAUTY — Call KE 3-3694 for your appointment at the LIN-BROOK BEAUTY SALON, 10057 Lincoln at Brookhurst.
