Bulletin Wednesday, April 15, 1909 Businessmen To Meet At OCC April 19 Seven businessmen from local communities will meet at Orange Coast College April 19 to serve as an advisory committee for the sheet metal department, at the college. Expected to attend the meeting are W. E. Batchel, owner of the Heating and Air Conditioning Co. in Santa Ana; Louis Schmetzer, owner of the Louis Schmetzer Sheet Metal Company in Tustin; Floyd Hanna, owner of the Hanna Sheet Metal Co. in Costa Mesa and Bert Smith, of Smith Bros. Sheet Metal in Costa Mesa. Also preparing for the meeting which will bring discussion and appraisal of the course are Stanley Grayden, a business agent for Local 420 in Buena Park, Vic Stauson, owner of the American Sheet Metal in Santa Ana, and Ruben Richey, a journeyman for the same company. By passing the test, television service men can win "Approved Technician" credentials. In photo, George Morgan, president of the SRTT, and Vincent Vigus, the FJC electronics instructor, who is to administer testing, give Ray Hickey, serviceman at Ballman's Appliances in Anaheim, a copy of the test. The first test will be given at Fullerton JC on Thursday, April 23 at 8 p.m. Morgan says, "until California begins to license TV technicians, working with FJC electronics department, SRTT can perform a valuable service to reputable and responsible TV repairmen and to the general public by supervising the qualifying technicians." Anaheim Lulacs To Host Annual Confab April 19 sonalities of Lulac as well as civic and social, will deliver keynote speeches. Anaheim Lulacs To Host Annual Confab April 19 The Anaheim Lulac Council No. 316, host for the 13th Annual California Lulac Regional Convention, has announced that plans in connection with the convention are completed. Cruz Sandoval, convention chairman, said this event will be the outstanding affair of the year for Lulac and the State of California. All the councils in the State will gather to deliver and transact business to insure proper legislation, policies and programs for the coming year. The convention is to be held April 19 at Carpenters' Hall, 608 W. Vermont Ave. In addition to the business which will take place, a banquet is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. and continue until 7 p.m. Immediately after the banquet, prominent personalities of Lulac as well as civic and social, will deliver keynote speeches. This information was offered by Dr. Judson T. Landis, professor of family sociology in the Berkeley campus of the University of California. Landis adds that people marry in their teens are less mature as a group. "Certainly many of them will not be mature enough for parenthood until well after they have had their last child," Landis says.
