ABOUT Stamps
By ANDREW FERENCE
The Post Office Department has discontinued sending notices of new stamp issues to individuals. However, the Postal Bulletin carries advance notices of new issues and these can be found on display at post offices. In addition, details of new stamps and the procurement of first day covers are printed in stamp columns of all leading newspapers and philatelics publications.
The next new issue of a United States stamp will be out April 20, at the Washington, D.C., post office. This will be the World Peace Through World Trade. The stamps will be printed in sheets of fifty, arranged horizontally, maroon, 8 cents.
Collectors wishing first day cancellations must send their requests, with the remittance, to the Postmaster, at Washington, D.C. 13. A thick piece of paper or thin card should be in the envelope, to keep it from folding while being cancelled. The envelope must also be marked "First Day Covers World Peace Through World Trade." Collectors wishing selected quality stamps or blocks for philatelic use, may do so, by sending their orders to the Philatelic Sales Agency, Post Office Department, Washington, 25, D.C. You will note that there are two separate addresses to use when ordering "covers" and "selected" stamps.

The normal rule is to play the ace and King. However, the jack is finesSED in this deal to safeguard the contract.
When you take the finesse, the contract is assured no matter which opponent has the queen of spades.
If the finesse succeeds, as the cards are shown, you draw the last trump with your ace and run the clubs, thus making an over-sick, enough to defeat the contract.
Daily Question
Partner bids one spade, and the next player passes. You hold: Spades Q 10 8 Heart 9 5 4 2 Diamonds J 10 9 7 Clubs 10 4 What do you say?
Answer: Pass. The hand is very nearly, but not quite, worth a raise in spades. Change one of the clubs to a small spade, so that you have four spades and only one club, and you would raise to two spades instead of passing.

While the Post Office Department, through the many post offices, would like to sell to each customer, exactly what they want, and the number of "blocks" they wish, they cannot, by law, do that. Chapter 3, in part, states, "Stamp clerks must NOT remove plate number blocks in advance from a large supply of sheets for the benefit of individual purchasers. Plate blocks may be laid aside however, as sheets are broken for regular sales purposes, and the patron at that time is not interested in receiving the plate block. The plate number blocks accumulated in this manner may then be sold as an accommodation to local stamp collectors for as long as a clerk's supply would last." Any person who remove and sell plate blocks contrary to these rules, do with the responsibility of answering for the violation when office accounts are audited by postal inspectors. Please do not ask our clerks to do the "wrong" that they may have to "pay" for later. They do want to please you, however, and will help them smiling.

Around Hollywood
By Vernon Scott
HOLLYWOOD (UPI)—Here we go again. There's another world wide girl hunt in progress to find a potential movie star for a razzmatazz, 8-bell, super-colossal, ever-loving, smash hit.
This time Hollywood is looking for a Cleopatra.
But as frequently happens in Zanyville-by-the-sea the moguls probably will settle for an established actress with a high-powered agent.
This year's safari into the hinterlands of Europe and the United States in search of a luscious lovely is led by Bwana Walter Wanger who hopes to turn up a sexy, intelligent doll who can also act.
It's a large order, but Wanger is a confident man with 5 million dollars to spend. With that kind of loot he should be able to dig up the original queen of Egypt.
"My entire movie pivots on the central character of Cleopatra," Wanger confided. "And she's going to be playing the truest characterization of the queen ever written."
Producer Wanger is a modest man, but he backhanded George Bernard Shaw and Shakespeare, saying, "Shaw depicted Cleopatra as a witness teenager, and Shakespeare presented her as a strum-pet."
She was neither. Through exhaustive research — going all the way back to Plutarch — we've found she was a brilliant queen who spoke seven languages. She
"Many very big stars have asked for the role," he said. "And I have some ideas of my own about who could play it.
"Here's a list of some of the girls I think could do the job: Elizabeth Taylor, Joan Collins, Joanne Woodward, Natalie Wood, Dana Wynter, Audrey Hepburn, Jean Simmons, Sophia Loren, Kim Novak, Gina Lollobrigida, Jennifer Jones and Brigitte Bardot.
Though the search is on, Hollywood's bright guys are betting shapely Joan Collins will get the part. And she wants it.
