Dodge Dealers Hold Conclave At Center
An early spring sales meeting of 200 Dodge Dealers and Division Sales people from three states was held today in the Chrysler Training Center at Anaheim.
L. F. Desmond, Dodge Assistant General Manager, said, "The meeting was held to discuss our spring sales strategy and the biggest newspaper radio television economy will continue to grow and that there especially will be an increased demand for cars in the medium priced field. One of the reasons that we believe this will bring an increased demand for Dodge is because we have the only medium priced car that has kept a six-cylinder line of cars. An early spring sales meeting of 200 Dodge Dealers and Division Sales people from three states was held today in the Chrysler Training Center at Anaheim.
L. F. Desmond, Dodge Assistant General Manager, said, "The meeting was held to discuss our spring sales strategy and the biggest newspaper, radio, television and magazine advertising program we've undertaken since our new car announcement last fall. This program, to be kicked off the week of April 6, will put an aggressive new selling approach into effect."
Other factory executives who spoke at the meeting were Jack Hansen, Dodge Area Sales Manager; R. K. Brown, Dodge Regional Sales Manager; and R. L. Shugg, Jr., Manager of Sales Promotion for Dodge cars.
"We expect that the nation's economy will continue to grow and that there especially will be an increased demand for cars in the medium priced field. One of the reasons that we believe this will bring an increased demand for Dodge is because we have the only medium priced car that has kept a six-cylinder line of cars. This gives our customers an excellent lower priced car with all the luxury features of the medium priced field," Desmond stated.
Lucky Break
BUFFALO, N.Y. (UPI) — David L. Dustin, 13, of Mt. Vernon-on-the-Lake was flying a kite when it tangled with a 4,800-volt power line. But the thin copper wire he was using as a string broke, saving him from almost certain electrocution.

MONEY’S WORTH
Millions of Taxpayers Finally Getting Down to Deadline Work
BY SYLVIA PORTER
We’re in the $5,000 to $10,000 bracket and on your 1958 income tax return, you’re going around $250 for contributions around $370 for interest. If your adjusted gross income is $20,000 to $25,000:
The average for contributions is $771; for interest, $753; for taxes, $1,035; for medical expenses, $892; for casualty losses, $333.
If your adjusted gross income is $25,000 to $50,000:
The average for contributions is $1,137; for interest, $1,036; for taxes, $1,468; for medical expenses $1,184; for casualty losses $480.
And so the deductions mount as the income brackets mount. (In the $100,000-and-up class, contributions average only $15,747, which seems surprisingly modest.) But comparisons in these rarified income brackets aren’t of practical concern to many of us.
More Leeway
Incidentally, when weighing your own deductions against these averages, give yourself a bit more leeway. For as Gold says, “These calculations are based on 1956 returns, and almost certainly since then the average for deductions generally has risen.”
Now what do these comparisons mean to you? In addition to showing you how you compare, they flash two practical messages:
If you are claiming deductions well above the average, presumably you’re honest about it, but your chances of being questioned are decidedly enhanced simply by the fact that you stand out. Be prepared with ample proof to back your claims when and as you’re checked.
If you’re claiming deductions
