Mater Dei High School To Present Two’s a Crowd’ for Three-Day Run April 12, 13, and 14 are the dates set for two hours of merriment and glee when the senior class of Mater Dei presents its first class play, “Two’s a Crowd’ in the Mater Dei Auditorium. The first performance set for Sunday afternoon, April 12th is scheduled for the different religious orders of Orange County while the Monday and Tuesday evening’s performances are both open to the general public with curtain time pegged at eight o’clock. The play, a three act comedy by Douglass F. Parkehrst centers around the Maxwell family of Clarkstown, USA, and when Dick Patrica, and Dot Maxwell find themselves “in charge” of their home during the unexplained absence of their mother, Patrica persuades her brother and sister to rent rooms to “Tourists”—thereby easing the family’s supposed need for funds. Mamie Beggs, maid, cook, amateur detective, and also one of the funniest characters to ever grace a stage, refuses to become involved, but when the house is full of a great assortment of would-be-tentants, Mamie involves everyone by suddenly developing a case of measles, which quarantines the whole crowd for two weeks. Although Maime is sure the mysterious Albert Wilson, his wife and glamorous daughter, Annelle, are criminals, Annabelle becomes the unwilling means of bringing romance to Dot Maxwell and Michael Street, handsome young guest. Finally, Patrica’s love-lorn slaves red headed Willie Peabody, all an unintended guest, stumbles on the key to the Wilson mystery and just as Patrica decides people are pretty easy to get along with all, a surprise ending brings play to an unexpected and riotous climax. Mater Dei students to win roles in the offering are Nancy Webb as Patrica Maxwell Edie Driscoll as the mother Emily Maxwell, Larey Macaulay as Richard Maxwell, Diana Bouchard as Dot Maxwell John Kelly as Willie Peabody Bob Luskey as Wilbur Street Maurice Monng as Michael Street, Joey Baltazaar as Abert Wilson Gloria Jannell as Annabelle Wilson Kathy Geo began as Hortense Wilson Bob Webber as Doctor Webster, John Hazard as the little boy, Pam Benton as the little girl, and Maeva Hutter as the fat woman. Tickets are on sale now may be purchased from any seafront Mater Dei High or at the Mater Dei High School office. There is limited seating in Mater Dei auditorium, people urged to buy their tickets e Casa Colina Board of Trustees Contribute to Building Fund Contributions of $40,763.75 to the Casa Colina building fund by members of the board of trustees were announced today by Stephen I. Zetterberg, president of the Chino crippled children's center. Casa Colina is currently engaged in a drive to raise $700,000 to aid in the construction of a $1,300,000 center for the treatment of handicapped children and adults on a new site in Pomona. "Being closest to the situation. It is only fitting that the board should take the lead in giving." Zetterberg said, "and we are very proud of the very real financial sacrifice many of our members have made in addition to giving hours of their time in service." He explained that the men and women making up the board of trustees are all volunteers, civic, and professional leaders who serve without compensation in directing the affairs of the crippled children home. The board members make major policy decision, review the work of the professional staff, and lead the way in their various communities of origin in gaining financial support for the charitable work carried on. Board members represent communities from all over Casa Colina's service area, which embraces eastern Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Orange and Riverside counties. Russia and the East." He received Ford and Rockefeller grants for Indian and Asian studies, 1953-1954. Carroll Alcott, KNX-CBS news analyst, was for 14 years a news correspondent, editor and broadcaster in China. In the 1930's his regular English broadcasts out of Shanghai so incensed the Japanese they tried to assassinate him. The public is invited to attend the Institute.
