Dulles described Mr. Eisenhower's mutual military inspection proposal as the most sober and serious proposal that history records in the disarmament field. He said it was not discussed with the Joint Chiefs of Staff or congressional leaders prior to Geneva. Dulles salso said the United States will cooperate with Russia or any others sincerely wishing to ease tensions. This principle, he said, will govern the forthcoming talks with Red China. Dulles did not warm up to a proposal by Chairman Walter F. George of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee for a conference between Foreign ministers of the United States and Red China. He said he did not wish to exclude higher level talks, but that he believes the ambassadors' meeting covers the situation adequately now. He did not think higher level talks were a likely possibility for the foreseeable future. Henry Wins Cup at Toastmasters' Meet Elwood Henry, speaking on "Women and Electricity", won the cup for the best speech at the meeting of the Kwikset Toastmasters Club this week. Henry pointed out that "Edison went to a lot of trouble" to invent the electric bulb, but the present-day housewife continues to light the dining room with candles—thus impeding eating and progress. Best table topics talk was given by Ted Stachowicz who said powdered metal filters are "practical in automobiles," but, since they are permanent, they deprive a person of the pleasure of throwing away "the soggy, gooey paper filter elements." Others involved in the program were Les-Sim, Johan Maters, John Taylor, Bill Grey, Don Wood, Ted Fichtel, Cas Hahn, Bob Parrett, Bill Young, Jim Wright, Ralph Caldwell, Bob Messett and Tommy Tomson. Rita Gets Credit for Haymes' Court Victory HOLLYWOOD (UP) — Crooner Dick Haymes said today he never could have won his long fight against the government's attempt to deport him to his native Argentina without his wife, actress Rita Hayworth. "She gave me encouragement all the way," the singer said. "If it hadn't been for her, I would never have made it. After all, I'm human." Haymes said he felt a "tremendous relief" after being notified yesterday the government decided not to appeal a District Court ruling that he was not deportable. "I am eternally grateful to the government for taking this attitude," Haymes said. "I'm not mad at anybody." All Makes SHAVERS Accessories and Repairs Scissors Ground ANAHEIM BARBER SHOP 111 S.
