Szathmary-Davison Wedding
Couple Makes First Home in Brea
Another lovely bride of the season was Joanne Valentine Szathmary, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Szathmary of 18304 Acapulco Drive, Whittier, when she exchanged vows with Donald Lee Davison of 205 South Flower Ave. at the Brea Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. Paul Benefiel officiated at the double ring ceremony.
Given away by her father the bride was lovely in her Chantilly lace gown, entrain, with underskirt of satin. She carried a bouquet of a white orchid and stephanotis with white streamers.
Miss Claudette Lucas, maid of honor, wearing yellow taffeta over net carrying azalea colored carnations, was in contrast to the bridesmaids gowns. Mrs. James Kuhlmann Jr., and Miss Jessica Spear, dressed in aqua taffeta formals over net and carrying yellow carnations were other attendants and the ushers were Robert Clarkson and Bert Szathmary.
Petite flower girls, Cheryl and Sandra Accosta, were dressed in yellow frocks.
The bride's mother selected a pink lace dress with pink accessories with a deep rose carnation corsage for the wedding while the bridegroom's mother chose a matching blue lace dress with pink accessories, she wore a pink carnation corsage.
The wedding background was arrangements of white gladioli, two-tone pink asters and candlelabra. Musical setting included Duane VeDel singing the "Lord's Prayer," and "Reason."

A lovely white, lace and net gown, worn over white taffeta, fashioned the gown of the bride with a bandeau holding her short veil to her hair. A white orchid centered her bridal-nosegay which she carried atop her Bible. She was given in marriage by her father.
Shirley Mae France was her maid of honor. She was dressed in a yellow-toned gown and carried yellow carnations in her bouquet. Bridesmaid was Lydia Ann Jahr, her blue dress, a lovely contrast to the maid of honor's gown. In her bouquet were pink carnations.
Bestman was Alvin McGinnes of Artesia with William Scholtz of Pasadena as usher.
Wedding Songs
"I Love You Truly," and "The Lord's Prayer" were the wedding songs with Judy Stearns serving as the nuptial organist. Singer was Ray Morford.
