More than 200 artists, sculptors, ceramists and assorted artisans are displaying their work on some six acres of festival guin, Degas, Goya, Sorroloaga and Matisse. Something for the chari arranged. These attractions that annually draw visitors from all over the world to the coastal county community. The Pageant of the Masters is presented in the hill-protected outdoor theater of Irvine Bowl. Paintings and exhibits will be on display in tiny booths clustered around the entrance to the natural bowl-like theater. Featured in the Pageant of the Masters, will be some 65 living, life-size, reproductions of famous art. The models — 200 strong, are recruited annually from among the residents of the beach city. Three different programs—22 in each—are seen on successive nights. The reproductions are produced by Howard Graham, with Burt Proctor acting as associate producer and art director. The productions themselves range the gamut of famous artistic endeavor. In addition to such favorites as "The Last Supper," "Pinkie," "Blue Boy," and "Venus," The Festival presents works by Gau- Torrance. (Festival Photo) Install Officers For Civic Light Opera Group In an exotic Hawaiian setting, outgoing president Tom Janus installed Robert Granger as the new president of the Whittler Civic Light Opera association at the third annual installation banquet held at the Shangri La. Field engineer with the Federal Pacific Electric Company, Granger attended the University of Southern California and is a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. He will be remembered for enacting the role of Hassi in the W.C.U.O.A. production of "The Desert Song." Assisting Granger during the coming year will be the newly elected vice president, Robert Kircher; secretary, Mary Anh Hall; treasurer, Richard Sears; and representatives at large, Dale Fleener and Carolyn Snow. Guest speaker for the evening was John G. Lauritzen, editor and publisher of the East Whittler Review who presented an interesting analogy of the production of a newspaper and the production of musical shows. Members and guests, wearing colorful leis, dined in the romantic atmosphere of the islands and were entertained by a program of native songs and dances presented by the Wilson family, Joe, Bonnie and Jackie, assisted by B111 Hall. Master of ceremonies, Bob Larson, also introduced Howard Sutherland who was assisted by six attractive girls as he sang "23 Starlets and Me." Among the honored guests were Mr. and Mrs. Edward Beanes, Founder of the association in 1932. Beanes has also been the musical director for several of the productions. ABOUT FAIR ENTRIES Orange County gardeners, who do not belong to garden clubs and other organizations, will soon be behalf of the Society, announced by Preside Leithold. Dahlia Society Meeting Slated The Orange County Dahlia Society meeting is Friday at the Santa Ana Woman's clubhouse. Sixth and Baker Streets in Santa Ana with a potluck scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Dr. L. N. Scherrard will give important information on how enter blooms for the coming sow. Mrs. Heckendorn will give some good points on arrangement. PLAN RECEPTION Deputy Visitor Attends Job's Daughters Anaheim Job's Daughters Bethel 5, welcomed their deputy grand guardian, Mrs. Tillie Ehrle for her official visit Monday night with this officer witnessing the initiation of a new recruit, Carrolyn Imbler. Darlene Nipp, honored queen presided. Another important Bethel function is the reception on July 24 from 2 to 5 p.m. honoring Johanna Sandra Johannes, grand representative to the State of Maryland and a past honored queen of the Anaheim Bethel. This affair will be held at the Nipp home at 624 South Illinois St. with Honored Queen Darlene Nipp as chairman hostess. Expression of appreciation for her interest in the Bethel No. 5, Mrs. Ehrle was presented with a monetary gift. Recognition honors also went to past Honored Queens, Doris Simmons Ehrle, Georgian Ehrle and Jean Foster. The Job's Daughters have had an active month, among the affair shared has been the after-initiation party to Irvine Park where they enjoyed a hot dog feed and baseball games. The officers won over the choir group with a score of 17 to 11. The clean-up day event netted the organization $37. Rebekahs to Honor Visit of State Assembly President A pot luck supper preceded the last meeting of the Lois Rebekah lodge with the informal affair held at the city park. At the lodge session in the IOOF hall, Opal Carter, noble grand presiding, plans were formulated for a dinner meeting at the Brothers Corral on Aug. 19. At that time the visit of Erma Freeman, president of the Rebekah Assembly of California will be honored. Sutherland who was assisted by six attractive girls as he sang "23 Starlets and Me." Rosary Institute Plans Food Sale A food sale after all masses at St. Boniface Catholic church will be sponsored by the Anaheim Our Lady of Rosary Institute Sunday, Aug. 7. Cord Rosary meeting for July 27 at the home of Gail Wolden, 203 North Spruce Dr. was planned by chairman, Phyllis Heffner with plans for the card section meeting tonight at the home of Lynn Raberding also discussed. If It's News You'll See It In The Anaheim Bulletin Mariners’ Moonlight Hop Slated July 29 at Sunny Hills Hall Silver stars elegant and sparkling, planes, and "the old man in the moon," will accent a midnight sky, effected through blue lights and set the theme of the Presbyterian Mariners “Moonlight Hop” July 29 at the Sunny Hills Recreation hall in Fullerton. Planned for excellent entertainment and fun for a Southern California balmy evening, the Mariners have signed the "Harmonaires" for the dance rhythms. Proceeds from this benefit will be added to the Sunday School Expansion Fund with admission donation contact to be made through the committee members. They are Mrs. Robert Davis, Mrs. William Gruen, Mrs. Ralph Hall, Mrs. Jack Goodell, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Fancher, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Howe, Mr. and Mrs. Rod Parson, Dr. and Mrs. Gaylord Brown. The evening is planned for one of fun and frolic with every detail for the entertainment of guests to be considered. Philharmonic Names Officers Three new members were elected to the active board of directors of the Orange County Philharmonic Society at a meeting held at the home of Mrs. Fred G. Ferrey of Lemon Heights, Santa Ana. They are Mrs. Carl Boswell of Bayshores, Newport Beach; Miss E. Gortrude Hellis and Edward Mittelman of Fullerton; the Society’s Treasurer. An enlarged advisory board of directors will soon by activated on behalf of the Society, it was announced by President Moreland Leithold. This new group, he stated, will provide full representation. The purpose of the meeting is two-fold: first to discuss the varied activities and projects that may be carried on at the Tucker Bird Sanctuary. The Tucker Bird Sanctuary is one of the best-loved projects of Orange County, and it provides valuable activities for children. The California Audubon is the only branch of the National Audubon Society in Orange County. One may join the local group with a fee of $1.50 or the National Audubon by paying a fee of $5 a year. The $5 includes a subscription to the National Audubon Magazine and dues for both the national and local societies. The public is invited by the California Audubon Society to attend a meeting at the YWCA, corner of 14th and North Broadway, Santa Ana tonight at 7:30.
