GRAND OPENING STARTS CHAIN—Lloyd L. Smith, co-partner in the new Glo-Cleaners located on the north side of Lincoln near Brookhurst, announced that this is the second cleaning establishment in which he has ownership, the other one (which name will be changed soon to correspond with the new location's) is located in Whittier, the Gunn-Park Cleaners. The new Glo-Cleaners will have its Grand Opening today and tomorrow. Co-partner of Smith is Larry Marchant, both of whom have been in the cleaning business a number of years. Smith and Larry Merchant, partners in the cleaning business, today announced the Grand Opening today and tomorrow of their second branch near the intersection of Lincoln and Brookhurst, known as Glo-Cleaners. Original business of the co-owners is located in Whittier, named the Gunn-Park Cleaners, but Smith said today that both places will soon be known as Glo-Cleaners. The new cleaning establishment located on Sate Highway 18-U. S., 91 running into Long Beach, was labeled by the partners as perfectly situated, because "this area is rapidly expanding and within a few years will be highly developed shopping district." Both men have been in the cleaning business for a number of years, and have been partners for more than five months. It was announced today by co-owners and partners in the firm, Jerry Marks and Alex Fishman. In the business since 1934, the men claim the new west Anaheim establishment is second to none but from the standpoint of savings, tops all similar stores in the area. "This is possible," Fishman commented, "because we purchase most of our merchandise to sell to builders and contractors, buying in large lots." The deceased, a native of Poland, came to United States in 1890 and has lived in the Olive area for many years.
