Alvarado-Randazzo Nuptials Read in St. Boniface Sanctuary Father Paul Peterson of St. Boniface Church performed the rites uniting Miss Mary Carmen Alvarado daughter of Mrs. Luz G. de Alvarado of Puebla, Pue, Mex., and John Frank Randazzo, son of Mr. and Mrs. Viccent Randazzo of Long Beach, with Warren Ashleigh, the bride's "adopted" father, giving her in marriage. The morning ceremony took place at nine o'clock with Miss Marion Caracausa singing "Ave Maria" and "O God of Love-liness" as the nuptial solos. Representing the bride's family was her grandmother, Mrs. Isabel L. Vda de Carredano from Puebla, Pue, Mex., well known concert pianist, and opera singer. Mrs. Ashleigh, who acted as Miss Alvarado's mother while she attended Fullerton Junior College, was seated with Mrs. Carredano. Heirloom a diamond and pearl drop earrings, which belonged to the bride's great, great, great grandmother in Spain, were the treasured jewelled adoraments worn by Miss Alvarado with her wedding ensemble. Her gown was created from white nylon lace and tulle, the lace bodice tightly fitted. The skirt, having the influence of the old world, was paneled with bands of matching lace, the tulle shirred on the hands. Exquisite Dress Double flounce, sweeping into a short train at the back was the skirt detail with tiny nosegays caught at the bottom of each band. A seed pearled tiara held the bride's waist-length veil to her dark hair. The veil was borrowed from her friend, Lois Ashleigh Carle. She carried a nosegay of white satin bows centered with an orchid. The inscriptions included the birth dates, date of meeting, engagement, bridegrooms Army service, the wedding church, and the letter to Mrs. Alvarado asking for the "hand of her daughter in marriage." The for the double ring ceremony were tied with white ribbons, a definite contrast to the royal red velvet pillow, on which they rested. Miss Cartwright wore a light blue nylon and lace formal frock, her heart-shaped blue head-dress trimmed with pearls. Attending the Bride The bridegroom's sister, Miss Mary Randazzo was the maid of honor. She was lovely in her light blue nylon lace and tulle gown, her matching head-dress heart-shaped and trimmed with pearls, red roses formed her bouquet. Wearing a light yellow gown of the nylon lace and tulle, Miss Florence Kocevar of Long Beach was the first bridesmaid. Her headpiece, matched the shade of her dress and she carried roses in pink and yellow colors in her bouquet. Others in the bridal party were Miss Betty Erwin of La Habra, Miss Hilda Erwin, also of La Habra and Miss Ursula Schmitz of Fullerton, formerly of Puebla, Pue, Mex. Their gowns were in the shades of pink with their matching head-dresses, also trimmed in pearls, matching the color-tone of their gowns. Mixed shades in roses were designed into their bouquets. Little Miss Patty Lou Osborn of Anaheim wearing a lilac flocked formal frock served as flower girl. Young Miss Cartwright, was the ring bearer. Bestman was Donald J. Glenn of Long Beach with Richard Cartweight of that city, Russell Bernard of Whittier, Robert Anderson of Camp Pendleton and Ralph Osborn of Anaheim as ushers. Although her family comes from Spain she is a native Mexico. Her husband attended San Heart school in Brooklyn, New York and was in the medical corps of the Army. He is co-owner of Ice Cream Distributing company Long Beach. Set Institute At Whittier The annual Institute of Humane Relations will be held this year at the Whittier College campus 5-10. Lester Granger, executive director of the National U League and past president of National Conference of Social Workers Frank Horne, Assistant to the minister of FHA's Housing Home Finance Agency and Georgiana Hardy, moderator producer of the Peabody Award winning TV show, "Cavalcade Books," and recently elected member of the Los Angeles Board Education, are slated as the speakers for the six day conference. (Arsene Photo) GREENBRIER RECEPTION Stueckle-Liekhus Nuptials Read at St. Boniface Church Nuptials that united two well known Anaheim families were solemnized by the Rev. Anthony DuVal at the altar of the St. Boniface Catholic church. The bride is Miss Marilyn Jean Stueckle and is the lovely daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Stueckle of North Zeyn Street, and she became Mrs. Gerald Liekhus at ten o'clock last Saturday morning in the presence of hosts of friends and relatives. Wide band of beautiful imported Chantilly lace, dotted with iridescent sequins and pearls, formed the low V-neckline of Miss Stueckle's William Cahill wedding dress. Created in the princess style the tulle gown had a billowy skirt, worn over white taffeta, which ended in a full train. Elbow length mitts of the tulle, folded at the cuff, completed her bridal ensemble and a strand of matched pearls circled her neck. Lace, sequins and pearls were fashioned into her tiara for her wedding veil. A white orchid and white prayer book carried by the bride who was given in marriage by her father. Sister, Maid of Honor Miss Maxine Stueckle, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and wore a pink crystalette, long torso, full-skirted gown. A circular veil, matching the delicate pink in her gown, was her head dress and pink carnations and ivy were arranged in her white flower basket. Other attendants, Miss Carole Ann Stueckle, sister of the bride, Mrs. James Gant of Santa Ana, Mrs. Don Blanchard of Lancaster, and Mrs. John Kredel of Anaheim, also wore gowns of the pale pink crystellette, their circular small veil head-pieces and the flowers in their baskets in corresponding shade. Attending his brother as bestman was Leonard Liekhus from Orange while Robert Bruce, Anaheim; James Dutzi, Pomona; Robert Felbaum, Anaheim; and Edward Reynolds of Pomona took care of ushering. Greenbrier Reception The Greenbrier at Garden Grove was the setting for the reception with the bride's colors, pink and white, again used in decorations. In Long Beach and attended College of Paeific and USC. She affiliated with Tau Kappa Kappa sorority. Her bridegroom, a graduate from Anaheim High school is an alumnus of Cal-Poly at San Luis Obispo. Mrs. Harbeson Honors League. Bylaws Group Provisions and Bylaws committee of the Anaheim Assistance League took a vacation from duties when Mrs. C. E. Harbeson entertained them at a delightful lunch-eon at her home, 1106 West Ash, Fullerton. Table covers were set for ten women with the beautiful and striking colors in the cerise gladioli and pale pink stock and carnation centerpiece one of the conversation pieces. Interesting was the book review presented by Mrs. Harbeson on Morton Thompson's "Assignment Churchill." Other than her friend, Mrs. Shell-aberger of Santa Ana, guests included Mrs. Dick Heffern president of the League; Mrs. A. C. Elliott, Mrs. Ernest Ganahl, Mrs. Fred Weisel, Mrs. H. H. Nutt, Mrs. A. Prasse The impressive Chapel of Peace at Inglewood was the scene of the Steffre-Prasse wedding Saturday a three o'clock in the afternoon with the Reverend Koch, chapel pastor, officiating for the double ring ceremony. The bride is the former Suzanne Steffre of Anaheim, her bridegroom, Burton F. Prasse of Inglewood. It was a small wedding with the bride lovely in her dress of white lace and tulle over crisp crinoline, the bodice foundation of taffeta and the ballerina skirt. A crown held her short veil to her hair and she carried white summer blossoms with her bridal orchid. Her sister, Miss Sharon Steffre, dressed in a yellow formal, fashioned similar to the bridal dress, and wearing a half-crown yellow head-piece, was the only attendant. Daisies were in her bouquet. Robert Rice of Inglewood attended his friend as bestman and ushering was in charge of Jerry Dugas and Chuck Karnow, both of Inglewood. Mrs. Koch was the nuptial musician. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. V. L. Steffre of 1414 Wedgewood and attended Inglewood High school completed her studies at Fullerton Junior college. MRS. Finnish Coed To Study Here Final arrangements have been made through the American Field Service for Miss Mirja-Lusa Loik-kaven, a Finish foreign exchange student, to attend Garden Grove Union, High school. This information was made public today through Dr. L. L. Doig, District Superintendent. Mirja-Lusa will be the first foreign exchange student to study at the GGHS. The Leon Brewers of 115 East Water St., welcomed their infant daughter June 29 at the St. Joseph hospital. The infant weighed seven pounds and nine and one half ounces. The Arthur Altheldes of 14231 Ranger Rd. welcomed their infant daughter at the St. Joseph hospital on June 30.
