Farm Bureau Sets Dedication of New Plant for Aug. 5
ORANGE — (OCNS) — Although plans are not jelled completely, dedication of the new $75.00 Orange County Farm Bureau Building 1916 West Chapman Ave., has been set for Aug. 5. George Kellogg, Executive Secretary, said today.
Invitations are in the mail to speakers selected at a meeting last Friday, and replies are expected within two weeks, he stated.
The dedication will follow a forenoon meeting of the board of directors and a luncheon.
However, Farm Bureau officials expect to be established in their new headquarters before the official ceremony.
The contractor has notified bureau officials that they can plan to move from their present quarters on Main street to the new building by July 15.
Farm Bureau centers and members have contributed $33,000 toward construction of the building and fixtures, and the home department has donated $6,000 for completion of the kitchen, according to Kellogg.
All funds are added to the $30,000 with which the building began, and if contributions continue the construction may be completed without any indebtedness, he added.
Chairman of the dedication committee is C. J. Marks, former executive secretary of the Farm Bureau, assisted by past president Dian Gardner. J. W. Crill, William Armstrong and Kellogg.

Tips on Touring

Souvenir collecting is probably as old as travel itself. For centuries, explorers and tourists have delighted in bringing back memoros from far places—some of them valuable, some at least useful, but many destined for the attic and eventually the trash can.
A good rule to follow in choosing souvenirs is to buy articles that are native to each vacation area — Indian jewelry in the Southwest, homespun fabric in the Smokey Mountains, tooled keather in Texas, wooden ware in New England, ceramics in Ohio and California.
Not all souvenir collecting costs money. Some of the best things—such as interesting driftwood, decorative grasses, and countless other memoros are furnished free by Mother Nature. If you find interesting recipes that are typical
