ANAHEIM (Cal.) BULLETIN Saturday, June 5, 1954 Kidnapers Hint at Ransom Whereabouts ST. LOUIS (UP) — Kidnapers Carl Austin Hall and Bonnie Brown Heady hinted the day before they died that they knew what became of the missing $300,000 Greenlease ransom mnoey, the St. Louis Globe-Democrat said today. The Globe-Democrat said Haile and Heady threw out hints in a death row interview last Dec. 17 with Roy S. Pruett, agent in charge of the federal Food and Drugs administration here. The next day Hall, a drug addict wastrel, and Mrs. Heady, his alcoholic accomplice, died in the gas chamber for the kidnap-murder of 6-year-old Bobby Greenlease. Hall and Heady had obtained $600,000 ransom from Bobby's wealthy Kansas City, Mo., father. About $300,000 of the money was never recovered. The two St. Louis policemen who arrested Hall, Lt. SHORT TIME WEST HARTFORD, Conn. Employees presented Andrew Hanen with a $150 watch after 3 years of service. The next night a thief broke into his home and stole it.
