The public is invited to attend the event which will be held at the Sunny Hills Recreation Center, one mile north of Fullerton. Hollywood Luminaries to Appear at Northrop's Gigantic Hospital Benefit Friday Night
Personal appearances of four leading motion picture and television stars plus a giant charity auction featuring special favors donated by other film luminaries will highlight the St. Jude Hospital Fund Drive celebration by Northrop Aircraft's Anaheim Division on Friday night.
Huntington Beach Pavalon Opens for Dancing June 5
The Pavalon Ballroom on the Pier in Huntington Beach will have weekly Saturday night dances starting June 5 through the summer.
The ballroom, which was at one time one of the most popular dance spots for the younger set, has been completely redecorated inside and out and the dancing floor has been refinished.
Music styled for dancing will be furnished by "The Pastels" one of the better local orchestras of this area. The leader of the band, Eddie Buhler is an accomplished arranger and has done some arrangements for top Southern California bands. Vocal chores will be handled by the lovely blonde, Jean Dodson of Santa Ana, who was formerly a vocalist with the Stan Kenton band.
The management promises to have a good clean dance where everybody is welcome. Police protection will be furnished and no intoxicating beverages will be served.
GRANDSON IS BORN
Mr. and Mrs. Stan Whieldon of 900 Kenway are receiving grand parent congratulations. Their grandson, Kenneth Stanley, was born June 2 to their son and his wife Mr. and Mrs. Stan Whieldon.
The public is invited to attend the event to be held from 7 p.m. until midnight at the Sunny Hills Recreation Center, one mile north of Fullerton. All proceeds from the carnival games, auction and ticket sales will go to the hospital fund drive which is nearing the end of its $750,000 goal.
Those attending will see, in person, film stars Margaret O'Brien and Ana Marie Alberghetti and television personalities Jack Bailey and Bill Gwinn.
Miss O'Brien is well known for her childhood roles and is making a new name for herself in adult parts on stage and screen. Song-stress Alberghetti recently finished a successful engagement with Ray Bolger at the Hotel Sahara in Las Vegas.
Jack Bailey is the stuntmaster on "Truth or Consequences" and is Honorary Mayor of Hollywood while Gwinn is the master of ceremonies on the television production "What's the Name of That Song."
In addition to these guest appearances, a charity auction will feature invitations to visit movie studios and lunch with such stars as Susan Hayward, Gary Grant, Humphrey Bogart, Bob Hope and Jimmy Cagney.

The event has been entirely planned and coordinated by Northrop-Anaheim personnel. They are erecting the booths and will staff the various games and exhibits during the evening. All 25 active clubs under the Northrop-Anaheim Recreation club are participating.
Music for dancing at the benefit will be provided by Al Taylor's orchestra. Tickets to the show may be secured from Northrop-Anaheim personnel and will also be sold at the door. Admission is $1 per person.
JULY CAMP MEETING
Leaders in Girl Scout program in Anaheim have been invited by Mrs. Roberta McFarland, director of the local Girl Scout program and Establish Camp director, to hold the July meeting at Camp San Antonio near Camp Baldy. Girl Scouts will be in camp at that time with each person planning to attend reminded to take a nose-bag luncheon. The date is July 13 states Mrs. J. F. Dutzi, president of the Girl Scout Council.

For Orange County
Motion Picture
"The Noble Experiment," feature motion picture to be shot entirely in Orange County and scheduled for the premiere showing in September, will be in production within two weeks according to Tom Graeff, director of the film. The cast will be made up of people from the area. Already signed are local residents: Charles McGinnis, Anaheim; George Lewis and Lois Wilson, Balboa; Carl Staugaard, Corona del Mar; Kathleen Keemper, Costa Mesa; Lillian Fish, Newport Beach; David Hinds and Arthur Jacques, Orange; and Dan and Connie Bruce, San Clemente.
Graeff states that there are at least 50 speaking parts of all types yet to be cast, most of them of men over 40 years old. Persons with little or no acting experience should not let them from participating. Those interested should write immediately to Graeff at 412 Goldenrod, Corona del Mar.
Majority of the cast will complete shooting on their parts in a matter of two or three days, shooting is scheduled according to availability of participants, with many scenes to be arranged on evenings and weekends when necessary.

Feature Dancer to Be Attraction at 1954 Orange County Fair
Joyce Riemer, noted feature dancer of stage and television, will appear in the 1954 production of "Bouchard the Pirate" at the Orange County Fair. Aug. 10-15, it was announced today by Gordon Wheatley, general director of the musical revue.
Miss Riemer, who also has had wide experience as a teacher and instructor in English, philology history and languages, will join Santa Ana College English next semester.
Dr. Frances Senescu, unidentified instructor in English, philology history and languages, will join Santa Ana College English next semester.
Dr. Senescu graduated withors from the University of California and received her master's degree there. She was granted herofilosophy degree at theversity of Chicago, taught aversity High school in EugeneCollege of the University ofCago, and for the past fiveat the Roosovelt College ofCago.
She has a varied backgroundreading to blind student,assistant to the Dean atLaboratory assistant in chelstate president of churchpeople, and secretary of aCub Scout organization in Clo.
She is the wife of Bernardsescu, former concert violinistthe Chicago Symphony orchestramember of the Fine ArtsQuartet of Chicago, and anartist with NBC-ABC. She ispanied him to Hollywood, whispers playing with various groupTV, motion pictures and musicles.

Orange County Fair
Joyce Riemer, noted feature dancer of stage and television, will appear in the 1954 production of "Bouchard the Pirate" at the Orange County Fair. Aug. 10-15, it was announced today by Gordon Wheatley, general director of the musical revue.
Miss Riemer, who also has had wide experience as a teacher and choreographer, will be in charge of the dancing ensemble in addition to appearing in solo numbers.
Students of Orange County high schools and junior colleges who have had class instruction in modern or coeducational dancing either in school or from private teachers are invited to participate in the colorful show.
Wheatley also seeks students and young adults, who are interested in music and with some training or experience in choral work, to appear in the expanded chorus numbers of the legendary presentation. He plans to incorporate a choir of 100 voices into the production.
The musical will be based on the story of Hipolite Bouchard, the swashbuckling pirate, said to have looted the coastline of Orange County in the days of the Spanish occupation.
New songs, gay costumes, interesting dance creations, special lighting and sound effects will combine to make the 1954 edition of "Bouchard the Pirate" an important feature of the Fair.
Arranements of the music will be executed by Vina Mae Harmer, who also will be accompanied. Adam Komes is designing the stae sets.
Anyone interested in theatrical participation behind the scenes also will be welcomed. Wheatley said. There will be openings for workers in make-up, wardrobe, properties and other technical assignments.

Dr. Frances Senescu to Santa Ana College English Department
Dr. Senescu graduated with honors from the University of Oregon received her master's degree here. She was granted her doctor philosophy degree at the University of Chicago, taught at University High school in Eugene, the college of the University of Chicago, and for the past five years the Roosevelt College of Chino. He has a varied background of teaching to blind student, special assistant to the Dean at Kansas, laboratory assistant in chemistry, president of church young people, and secretary of a large Scout organization in Chicago. He is the wife of Bernard Senescu, former concert violinist with Chicago Symphony orchestra, member of the Fine Arts String Artist of Chicago, and a staff artist with NBC-ABC. He accompanied him to Hollywood, where playing with various groups in motion pictures and music clrerion older son, Bobby, was a Quiz at 5 and now at 10 is concertier of the Glendale Children's Museum. She has another son, one and one-half years old.
Redlands Graduation Week Events Tabbed
Degrees will be conferred upon 175 graduates at the 45th annual University of Redlands commencement exercises Sunday, June 6. 5 p.m. in Alumni Greek theater, with Dr Raymond I. Lindquist, noted clergyman, delivering the address.
Dr. Lindquist, pastor of the Hollywood First Presbyterian church, will speak on "How to live at your best."
Bishop Gerald Kennedy, resident Bishop of the Los Aneles area Methodist church will deliver the Baccalaureate sermon at 11 a.m., services Sunday, according to Dr. George H. Armacost, U of R president. Baccalaureate will be held in Memorial chapel.
Alumni day will be held Saturday, prior to Commencement Sunday. Alumni day will be climaxed in the evening with the "Zanja Fiesta," a variety show of student talent.

Swing High", the 45th annual Zanja Fiesta in the University of Orlando Alumni Greek Theater Saturday evening at 8:30 will feature the popular comedy team, Cullen and Dave Nuffer in farewell appearance.
For the past four years Cullen Nuffer, with their ukes and antics, have been the life of U. of R. rallies and have devoted audiences in high schools, ice clubs and parties through southern California.
A couple of wandering space sets, Cullen and Nuffer will sing out of a pair of flying cerr Saturday night to sing, dance and clown their way through the liveliest musical revues the long history of the Zanja Fiesta. The revue will also include music, dances, and comedy sketches solving a cast of 100.
Swing High" is under the direction of Albert and Bertha Johnson with Erwin Ruff as music director and Barbara Lyddane as dance director.
The revue is open to the public tickets available at the gate. Children under 12 will be admitted if with parents.
