Three Methodist Youth Groups Plan Sunday Services
The three Methodist Youth Fellowship groups at White Temple Methodist church begin a buoy week Sunday night. The High School MYF will entertain a guest speaker, Dr. Milo Connick, professor of Religion at Whittier college. He will speak on "The Bible as the Word by God." This is another in the current series on basic Christian beliefs.
At the same time, the College MYF will hear Jack Bevan, Conference World Outreach chairman, and candidate for three years of special missionary service in Africa as an A-3. He graduates from UCLA this June.
Tuesday evening, the two groups, together with the Junior High MYF will serve the annual White Temple camp dinner. This year the theme is "Quest for Treasure."
Over 300 is the estimated attendance for this youth-planned meal. Volunteer musical groups will present the program. Already 15 junior age boys and girls and over 30 junior highs have registered for summer camp from White Temple. As many more high school and college youth expect to attend.
The Junior High MYF are preparing for a parents' night as a climax to their activity-method study of the life of Jesus.
At both the 9 and 11 o'clock morning worship services, Rev. Frank E. Butterworth will preach on "Untying the Hands of God."

Selections to be read from the Bible include the account of "a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt thou canst make me clean. And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean, And immediately the leprosy departed from him."
Mary Baker Eddy counsels in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures": "Keep distinctly in thought that man is the offspring of God, not of man; that man is spiritual, not material; that Soul is Spirit, outside of matter, never in it, never giving the body life and sensation. It breaks the dream of disease to understand that sickness is formed by the human mind, not by matter nor by the divine Mind."
