Colonists Journey to Santa Ana for Final Game
Anaheim's Colonists will attempt to close their Sunset League with a plus—500 record when they face Saints on the Santa Ana High School diamond tomorrow at 3 p.m.
The Colonists enter their last game with a 7-7 record and holding third place by one-game margin over Orange.
Don Leigh, who has been the ace of the Anaheim staff this year, is slated to make his final appearance in a Colonist uniform in tomorrow's battle. Others winding up their Anaheim High career are First-baseman Bob Loustau and Outfielders Dean Philpott and Ronnie Sabo.
This is the deciding game between the two clubs. The Saints copped a first-round encounter, 8-6, but the Colonists bounced back with a 6-2 victory in the second round.
The Fullerton Indians clinched their third straight Sunset League helter skelter club to hold annual dinner.
Orange County's Helter Skelter Ski Club will hold its annual spring banquet at the Laguna Hotel Saturday evening. May 22, tonight at 8 o'clock.
Dinner will be served in the crown by drubbing the Saints, 21-1, at Santa Ana yesterday.
Anaheim rates an assist in the Fullerton championship because of the Colonists, 7-6 upset triumph over second-place Newport Thursday.
The Indians host Chaffey's Citrus Belt League titleholders in the first round of the CIF playoffs at Amerige Park Tuesday at 3 o'clock.
Outfielder Willie Quezada sparked the Warriors with a home run. He drove in four tallies, scored four and drew two bases on balls. Starter Ev Tande was the winning chucker.

Olson Already in Top Shape for Castellani Bout
By HAL WOOD
United Press Sports Writer
SAN FRANCISCO (UP) —Talked to Carl (Bobo) Olson th's morning just after he came in from his three-mile run along the beach and he wasn't even breathing hard. In fact, he was in the most bubbling spirits I've ever seen him.
Of course, I'd probably be feeling pretty good too with the visions of a $125,000 pot coming to me in August. (That's the minimum he'll get for his fight with Rocky Castellani).
"So Castellani is coming out here in June to set up camp for our August fight, eh?" Bobo chuckled.
"Well, it won't make any difference. He can just fight one way, just as I can fight only one way."
"And no matter how much he trains he won't be in any better condition than I am."
Manager Talks
Olson usually doesn't do much talking. He leaves that to Manager Sid Flaherty. But Sid wasn't back from the Cleveland contract signing yet, so Bobo didn't mind answering a few questions.
One was: Aren't you afraid of getting into such a high income bracket that you won't get much return on your hard labors?
"Naw, I don't worry about that," he said. "We plan to fight only about once every six months. That is, we'll put the title on the line twice a year."
"There are a lot of expenses in connection with a fight, especially over the long training grind. We still make good money, though, after paying the government. I've got no kick."
Helter Skelter Club
To Hold Annual Dinner
Orange County's Helter Skelter Ski Club will hold its annual spring banquet at the Laguna Hotel Saturday evening, May 22, tonight at 8 o'clock.
Dinner will be served in the Terrace Room. Speeches for the evening will include adventures of well known skiers. Introduction of the newly elected officers will be made and trophies will be awarded for ski school achievements.
Dancing will start at 10 p.m. to the music of the Harmonairs and continue until 1 a.m.

HONOLULU fight
"I don't know anything about that," said Bobo. "S'd takes care of all that kind of stuff. Sure, I'd like to fight in Honolulu. That's where I lived for a long time."
If Flaherty follows his usual procedure, he'll have Bobo in a non-title 10-round go just about a month before the title fight with Castellani. That's what he did just before the Kid Gavilan bout. In February, he put Bobo in the ring against veteran Joey Rindone of Boston for a 10-round in San Francisco. Olson never looked be Boston for a 10-round in San Francisco. Olson never looked better as he scored a fifth-round knockout. From there he went on to whip Gavilan.
Olson is ready to start training at top speed right now.
"But we probably will start the regular grind on Monday," he said.
"That will give us plenty of time."

Robertshaw-Fulton and the Foods squad were tied up at 5-all at the end of the regulation seven. Both teams tallied a single run in the eighth and the Fultons notched the winning tally with three hits in the top of the ninth.
Rich Morales and Bob Morales smacked four-baggers for the losers while Bob Huston rapped a triple and single for the Robertshaw team.
Barney Swearingen, who fanned seven and walked none while giving up eight hits, was the winning chucker.

OSCAR FRALEY
NEW YORK (UP)—No matter who wins the Preakness at Pimlico today horsemen are betting that the absent Porterhouse will cop the Belmont Stakes on June 12.
Correlation is the Preakness favorite, with Kentucky Derby winner Determine passing up the run for the black-eyed Susans. Porterhouse wasn't adjudged quite ready but three weeks from now, watch out!
The colt missed the Derby when he suffered stone bruises in Kentucky. Last Saturday he made up eight lengths—in a six furlong spring—to win over older horses. The stable figured it was too big a jump to a mile and three sixteenths today but come the Belmont, they'll be shooting.
Whats the difference between "great" golfers and "good" golfers? You can get a dozen different answers from the pros themselves. Tommy Bolt claims it's in the putting. Ted Kroll claims it's in the concentration department, with the great players making fewer mistakes. I thought it was merely getting the ball into the hole with fewer strokes.
Marciano Overtrained
There is a fear in the Rocky Marciano camp that the heavy-weight champion may confe up stale and overtrained for his June 17 title defense against Ezzard Charles. The Rock already has worked 100 rounds and is down to 187½ pounds, only one pound over fighting weight. But he can't lay off. The champ has had only 12 rounds of actual fighting in two years and really needs the work. It's like having a bear by the tail, hurting if you do and hurting if you don't.
Sounds like old times, with a Los Angeles to New York "Bunion Derby" listed for August. World
