‘Requiem’ Slated Sunday at Church In Santa Ana
The music department of the First Methodist church of Santa Ana will present the “Requiem” by Johannes Brahms Sunday, May 23 at 7:30 p.m. Brahms' most important choral work and the most widely known composition of the mass type since Beethoven will be sung in English by the Sacruary choir with a complete symphony orchestra playing the difficult and musically satisfying score under the able direction of the churches minister of music, David Young. Virginia Burk of Anaheim and organist of the church, will play the organ for the production.
Two of Southern Californias finest soloists, Edith Shuman, soprano and Merwyn Cant, baritone, will augment the choir and orchestra in what promises to be one of the most inspiring evenings of choral music ever presented in Orange county.
Mrs. Shuman is soprano soloist at the First Methodist church and Market Saturday FROM ORVAL'S BIKE SHOP
