Business Enrollment
Leaps at Orange Coast
Enrollment in business education classes at Orange Coast College has taken a thirty-two per cent jump over last year, according to Charles Haley, division head.
Approximately an equal number of men and women make up the total of 444 students now enrolled in business classes. Three additional classes have been added this year to bring the number to 18, Haley said.
Instruction is now available in the following areas of business education: principles of accounting, personal typing, intermediate typing, stenography, introduction to business, business law, marketing and distribution, merchandising and operation, advertising and sales promotion and retailing.
Also offered are industrial organization and labor relations, advanced typing, transcription, office practice, accounting practice, payroll and income tax accounting, machine calculation, business machines, and filing.

Executive board members of the Chamber of Commerce met Tuesday morning at Breakfast at the Airport Cafe. Special guest speaker was City manager Arthur Brewer. He told of proper zoning and the problems connected with it. Two new members of the board were introduced, Guy Tester of Knotta Berry Farm and W. W. Stephens of the Gliden Co. These names were added because of the new increase of board members to fifteen.
