Kiwanis Hear Talk On Super Markets "Supermarkets are America's new giant," Claude Edwards, president and general manager of Alpha Beta told the Kiwanis Club yesterday. The super markets are big business, but are not monopolistic. The competition is extremely fierce, he said. Southern California is a notable example in the United States of super markets. Although we might not have the finest, we have the largest choice in the nation, he stated. Three are tremendous opportunities for advancement in super markets. Morton, who left his job home 20 months ago and arried home this week partially referred from an amnesia attack, yielding together his long bed of darkness. Forton, 56, paid his cab and in fares from San Francisco of a tiny allowance given in-vent patientts to reach his home today after a "flash" restored memory in a charity ward. Forton left his job at the Amern Trust Co. offices, where he is the long-time head of theeign Exchange department, on February day. He said he faintly remembered arriving at a railway station after boarding a commuter train to San Francisco. He then felt some sort of stroke or attack, he said. "It seemed to me it was outside a railway station on third Street," he said. "Then an ambulance came and took me to San Francisco hospital." Police records showed it was Feb. 27, 1953. He later was transferred to Laguna Honda Home, back to San Francisco Hospital and once again to Laguna Honda. Meanwhile, police check failed to uncover Morton's true identity. He took, or was assigned the name "James Foster." Then last Sunday Morton's memory returned. "Month after month and day after day," he said, "I tried for a glimmer of memory about myself, who I was and where I lived." Last Sunday, "there was a flash in my bram and suddenly I remembered my name and address. He said that at the recent Annual Meeting of the California Division of the American Cancer Society in San Francisco, it was announced that $274,865.87 was received in California bequests during the 1952-53 fiscal year. This amount was over and above the $1,406,740 raised during last April's annual Cancer Crusade.
