British Troops
Guard Colony at
British Guiana
GEORGETOWN, British Guiana,
(UP)—Five hundred Royal Marines marched ashore from British warships here today to guard vital installations in this "Red colony."
The frigates Bigbury Bay and Burghead Bay, which arrived off Georgetown last night with the cruiser Superb, entered the harbor at 4:30 a.m. and promptly began discharging troops.
The Marines fanned out to guard government house, local radiations and the homes of prominent citizens. Armed local guards stationed to support the new rived troops.
Police and army headquarter were floodlighted last night precaution against attacks failed to develop, and early the government issued a cal mobilizing all "spec'al re police" for emergency duty.
The Superb, too big to Georgetown's shallow harbor offshore, its nine 6-inch guns at any time to provide a support for the landing force.
The reinforcements were on here by the British Colonial, to forestall the possibility of munist seizure of the colonia errment, already dominated political party which British orities say is Red.

in St. Louis on a drunken spending spree. Police who arrested him there Tuesday night found $293,992 in his hotel suite. He said the O'Day woman took the rest while he slept.
Later he said he gave her $1000 and told her to leave for California and "mall a letter to a man in St. Joseph." A third version was that he gave her $2000 or $3000 but that it might have been more because he was too drunk to know.
The O'Day woman left St. Louis hurriedly Tuesday morning. She was arrested here, and the FBI drew a vell of secrecy about her.
Note Discrepancies
As the St. Louis police turned Hall and Mrs. Heady over to federal authorities there, they pointed to discrepancies in Hall's story. A high police official there said it could be assumed Hall had been in fear the boy would be found in his hands and added, "We think it's an even bet that he and the woman carried out the kidnapping and murder themselves."
The same officials said it was the "consensus of the department" that Hall and Mrs. Heady had the remaldeer of the money hidden somewhere.
The huge kidnap sum had been hastily gathered together from Federal Reserve Banks by Arthur B. Eisenhower, Kansas City banker and brother of President Eisenhower, within two days after Bobby was spirited from an exclusive day school Sept. 28.
Bag of Money
At the request of the frantic father, Eisenhower, vice president of the Commerce Trust Co., one of the city's largest banks, procured 40,000 pieces of money, money, $200,000 in 10-dollar bills and $400 in 20's.
As the kidnaper had requested, they were placed in two canvas bag, the 10's in one and the 20's in another. As directed, the whole sum then was put into an Amy duffel bag, making a currency package weighing 85 pounds.
Two business associates of Greenlease, who had maintained contact with Hall by telephone and letter while the police stayed out of the case in hopes of getting Bobby back safely, staged a cloak-and-dagger delivery of the ransom.

Funeral Tomorrow
They dumped the money off sat a bridge on a country route about a mile off U, S. Highway 40 near Kansas City. The bag dropped 40 feet into a perfect hiding place in a heavily wooded section. Hall picked up the ransom in the dark hours of Monday morning.
Funeral services for Bobby will be held at St. Agnes Catholic church here tomorrow morning. Yesterday, as the news broke of the tragic end of the most horrific kidnapping and murder since that of the infant Charles A. L'ndbergh Jr., 21 years ago, Bobby's little schoolmates were in the chapel praying for him.
Hit in Mouth
It was when the examination of the body was made that it was disclosed that Bobby had been beaten. He was slain the same day—a week ago Monday—that Mrs. Heady had lured him from the school by a ruse.
His abductors struck him in the mouth before they shot him through the back of the head and buried him in the shallow grave, over which they planted flowers. A coroner said two of the child's lower teeth were knocked out, a third lcosened, and both lips cut. Hall and Mrs. Heady, who had been living together in St. Joseph for some time, were trapped in St. Louis because they fought each other after days of wild drinking and because Hall began spending money lavishly on prostitutes. A suspicious cab driver tipped police to his activities.
Hall, a wastral son of a prominent Kansas attorney, had run through a $200,000 inheritance at an early age and had served a term for armed robbery. He robbed eight cab drivers, obtaining a total of only $33. He had attended expensive Kemper Military School in 1931, there meeting Greenlease's adopted son, Paul, and learning of the wealth of Greenlease, a Cadillac distributor.
