Wife Tells Story Of Civilian Pilot Prisoner of Reds TOKYO — The strange story of an American civilian airlines pilot held prisoner by Chinese Communists for almost four years was told by his wife today. Mrs. Larwrence R. Boul, who arrived here several days ago from Hong Kong and Taipeh, where she is employed by Civil Air Transport, said her husband had been captured by the Chinese Communist armies when they stormed the city of Mengtze, Yunan, Jan. 15, 1980. "Bob was then chief of flight operations for the airline and he had flown in to Mengtze on an inspection flight of the station," she said. "He remained overnight in the city and it was then the Communists fought their way into the town." The attractive woman whose home is Albuquerque, N. M., said she had neither seen nor heard from her husband again. "We know he alive," she said, "or at least was up until the mid-1951. Until then I was able to get receipts for food parcels sent to me by the British Vice-consul in Kunming. However the British had to lose their consulate there in 1951 and that is the last we have heard." The captive airman's father, Larwen Boul, Jr., of Stockton, Calif., has never heard from his son either according to Mrs. Boul. Farmers prices have averaged about 94 per cent of parity during the first eight months of 1953. Agriculture Department officials no declined to be quoted by name, did they foresaw no price upturn that enough to bring the annual average up to parity before the war ends. Democrats contend the price statistics carry explosive political implications. They expressed confidence at their Chicago meeting is week that can make political hay with the farm issue in the 1954 congressional elections. Republican farm belt congressmen privately agree that their party will lose ground in the farm belt unless the GOP controlled Congress next year enacts a farm program that will be to the farmers liking. Parity is a legal standard that measures the level of farm prices required to put them on a par with increased prices farmers have had to pay for production and living expense items since the base period, 1910-14. THOSE G—O DAYS PORTLAND, Me. OH — Contractor Everett Dobson sighed for the past when he found some receipts more than a 100 years old while remodeling the ancient home presently owned by Earle Young.
