Anaheim Rebekahs Enact ‘Backward’ Drill At Maywood for Saratoga Home Fund
One of the highlights of the activities under the Good Fellowship chairman of the Lois Rebekah Lodge, Midge Fitz, was the "backwards" drill staged by a group of the Anaheim Lois lodge members when they journeyed to the Maywood Rebekah meeting on a recent evening.
The clever drill, rehearsed under the guidance of August Fits, resulted in finances for the Assembly President, Rose Hake's project, continuous heating for the home at Saratoga. The group took a small pot-bellied stove, a gift from the Assembly head, and presented it to the Maywood members following the drill. They "stoked" it financially with this money to be sent to the president. In turn, the Maywood group will give some type of a program at another lodge with financial results to again aid the home program.
Hallowen masques were worn backwards, the old-fashioned costumes were also worn backwards, with the effect, as the bows were made drawing gales of laughter.
Those participating in the stunt were Pat Senter, noble grand of the Rebekah's, Barbara Myers, Edna Kruse, Vernice Summers, Opal Carter, Martie Brown, Thelma Woods, Opal Meeker, Launa Boon, Margie Vaughn, Lizzie Knight, Susan Benbrooks, Berthyle Reisinger, Vivian Waite, Gale Cleveland, Irene Stitchman, Bessie Curtis, Vi Thierfelder, Ellene Callor, Midge Fitz and Maud Adams, musician for the occasion.

Everyone in the family needs a good breakfast as part of the three well-balanced meals of the day. With a little extra planning, you can find and make all sorts of morning meal specials that will stimulate appetites for betterbreakfasts.

Free Methodist Boys Back From Big Trip To Grand Canyon
Seven boys from the Free Methodist church have returned from an exciting trip to Grand Canyon.
They wree Marvin and Erroll Huson, Mike Madison, Bill Davidson, James Schroff, Bernard Taylor and Ronnie Crossley. With them was their pastor, the Rev. Ernest Franklin, who also teaches their Sunday school class.
Leaving Anaheim they arrived at the Canyon about darrk and early the next morning they headed out after breakfast on a seven and one half mile hike down the mule trail to the Colorado river. "It wasn't so difficult going down," said the boys, "it was getting back that tired us out. When we reached the top of the trail we were crawling over the south rim with dark already settling in."
The trip down the canyon and back by two of the boys, Bernard Taylor and Ronnie Crossley, not yet nine years old, was a remarkable achievement. It is thought by many in the church that they are possibly the youngest to make such a trip in one day.
The boys returned to Anaheim last Saturday night with a hike planned this Saturday at Mt. Baldy by other boys in the church. Their pastor will again accompany them. Mt. Baldy is 10,000 feet high.
