The plot was revealed when a suit case left in the temple last night was opened, resulting in the discovery of an infernal machine. The bomb was addressed to the Electa Chapter and delivered by express. Records of the express company sohwed it was supposed to have come from H. D. Colbert, N. 227 Dillon-st, Los Angeles. C. W. Macomber worthy patron and Miss Jean Stowell, worthy matron of the lodge, were about to open the suitcase when they decided to call in the police. ELECTION BLOW AT BOLSHEVISM MOSCOW, May 5.—Addressing the communist party conference regarding the problems of the Communist, Internationale Gregory Zinoviev, secretary of the latter body, again repudiated a suggestion that the Internationale had any connection with the bomb outage at Sofia cathedral, in which many were killed. Zinoviev declared the conservative government of Great Britain had created a revolutionary movement which gives tremendous importance to correct application of the tactics of a United Trade Union front. Predicting that the allies will try to play President-elect Hindenurg of Germany against Russia, Zinoviev quoted Andrew Melon, American secretary of the treasury, as saying that Hindenburg's election strengthens conservatism against bolshevism. The speaker rejected two ideas—that Russia cannot achieve Socialism because the world revolution is far off and that Russia can build socialism regardless of foreign developments. "We must remind our comrades that we expect final victory only on international scale and that having conquered in one country we shall do everything possible to support revolutionary movements in other countries," he said. F. N. Gibbs told of an organization which had its origin among lumbermen in St. Paul in 1921, whereby the prospective builder may secure without cost plans for the modest home he desires, merely through a request for same. Rev. J. A. Geissinger spoke of the effect of the home and advanced the opinion that a man must have a suitable home to be the kind of man he ought to be. The Prince of Pilsen which will be given here Thursday evening by the Orange County Choral Union, received a little boost. The musical contest in which Homer Lewis is representative of the Kiwanis club was discussed. Dr. Hillary, representative of the club was chosen to co-operate with the American Lexion in float arrangements for Armistice day. Fishing is good anyhow and usually best for the first few days. Home Improvement Plans Win Praise of Organization Heads; Better Homes Week in Mid May The aims of Better Homes in America are broad ones. They include everything from the encouragement of home ownership to the highest realization of ideal home life. The movement has the support and co-operation of many organizations of national scope and influence. One of the members of the Advisory Council is Mr. Edwin H. Brown, president of the Architects' Small House Service Bureau. Speaking of the value of home improvement, Mr. Brown says: "I would like to touch upon one part of it that interests me very much. This is an age of selling, of salesmanship. The entire tendency of the times is toward finding a market, through advertising and sales ability, for the products of manufacture. The natural result is a pandering to extravagance. "Better Homes in America, by its attention to the small home, to the limitations of the pocket book of the family of small means, showing how good, simple, attractive houses (which help to maintain the standard of family life and so of American citizenship) can be built well, without waste of money, is able performing a great service to the nation." Mrs. Francis King, another member of the Advisory Council of Better Homes in America, who is honorary president of the Woman's National Farm and Garden Association, is keenly interested in the progress of this country-wide educational movement. "My special interest in this fine movement is outside of the house, not in," she says. "for I believe that the little garden will save families to the right kind of life; will keep them happily in the home, and give them the kind of happiness that comes from something real. I wish we might have everywhere with the little houses that are shown, model gardens, after patterns by fine landscape architects. Such things would be copied everywhere." The demonstrations of "better homes" referred to by Mrs. King will occur throughout the country during Better Homes Week, set this year for the period from May 11th to May 17th inclusive. Secretary Hoover is the president of Better Homes in America and Dr. James Ford of Washington, D.C., is its executive director. High School Sports A. E.
